well, the worst part is that to come in the driveway in the back of the house (top of the pic) is really tough as it is a narrow entrance with a brick/concrete retaining wall on either side as the house sits on a slight hill. the good news is that there is a double door gate straight off of the garage that I can use to drive from the front driveway (bottom of pic) through the front yard to the back if need be.

and I would be pouring new concrete anyway. hell, if I'm pulling the old place out, might as well pour a new driveway at the same time...lol

here's a few more pics of the house and layout

nice looking older house, mid 50's???

well if there hasn't been any rain, then is it possible to back a truck down with the trees taken into consideration....

the garage is on the higher part of the ground. so it would be backing a truck... up. lol both driveways are inclined upward from the road. I'm not too worried about getting the truck in. I've run conveyor belts before for concrete.

and late 20's on the age... and I'm loving it. the place is built... shall we say... solid. the floor joists are like wooden I-beams...

House looks awesome. I really like the layout.

Concrete is EXPENSIVE these days. Just our driveway was 4500.00 and it's not really all that big.

And is the concrete pond a pool? Or an actually concrete pond. LOL

it used to be a coi pond. and then it was filled in some years ago and now its a dirt pond on top of concrete...lol

which I like, because my daughter cant fall into it and drown.

the garage is not going up till at least next summer if not later than that. got plenty of other things to take care of first.

The place still has plenty of knob and tube wiring that needs to be replaced before any other work gets done.

most of it is actually under the house and "easily" accessible (crawlspace). I've got an electrician friend that I've worked with for 7 years now that he and I are talking about taking a couple days and tackling the job just fishwiring the old to the new and pulling it through.

that and wiring the garage for 220...

Thought about 3 phase... may do it down the road. right now tho, its cheaper to run the welder off of 220 than it is to run it off 110

I hear you...

We tried to find a house we liked with a three car garage, but it wasn't to be... We love the house, but the garage is so small, so Debbie and I built a 12 X 20 shop on one side of the house... It's actually a Pro-Tall Tough Shed that we finished out on the inside with insulation, sheet rock etc... Lots of electrical, Heat/ A/C etc... and surround sound stereo..

I can't wait ti see your place... Have you thought about having modernized works put in that fridge you have, or do you want to go back original.

My requirements for when me and Bonnie bought a house were vaulted ceilings, 3 car garage, and a huge driveway.

Bonnies requirements were a swimming pool, an open kitchen to dining to living room and a game room.

Our house has a swimming pool, an open kitchen to dining to living room a game room, 2 car garage, 8 foot ceilings (ya, I know, should be same as vaulted to me lol) and a regular driveway.

So it looks like one of you got what they wanted. It's all about the compromise.

I also wanted A 3 car garage with a big driveway so I can fit all the cars.

I have enough room to fit 9 comfortably but it's a pain having to move one to gt another one out of the garage.
