drag strip and sway bar questions.

I've heard disconnecting the rear sway can help you hook up better. If that's the case is it OK to just disconnect one side of the end links and leave everything on?

I tried this and saw no significant changes in my 60 ft times. My car usually 1.5/1.6 60.

This is completely untrue! For drag racing you want the stiffest rear sway bar you can have on the rear. This will control the rear suspension movement from side to side the best and give the best tire contact patch. I guess the best way to explain it is that you want the rear IRS on the car to act like a solid axle and the best way to do this is by having a really stiff sway bar. Having a good stiff rear sway bar like our Xtreme anti-roll bar (XSB004) will lead to more consistent launches and better 60ft times.

Now the front is a different story. Having no front sway bar is the most ideal setup for purely drag racing because having less weight over the front of the car and having no front sway bar will allow the front suspension to travel up and down easier which will lead to better, faster weight transfer. Not many people will do this because it isn't real feasible for people who drive their cars on the street. A good comprimise is to undo one of the end links off the front sway bar and zip tie it to the strut, this will allow you to have the front suspension travel that is ideal for transferring weight but you can quickly reinstall the end link when you are done racing for driving the card on the street.

I disconnected my front sway and saw absolutley no difference. It did 1.44 with and without. I'm thinking about getting another front because I can notice the difference on the street.
