Low Oil Pressure
I've got a 97' 30th Anniversary SS with 24k miles on it. When I let the engine run for about 30 min. in my garage @ idle, the oil pressure drops way down, right below the last bar but not on the red. It takes it about 10-15 min. to do this, I'm assuming as the viscosity of the oil changes.
As soon as I rev the engine back up, the pressure builds back to 40, but drops back down when the car is back in idle. Should I change up the oil, maybe 20-40, or maybe the oil pump is going out? I was wondering if anyone else has had a problem like this, or if it's normal for this car? Thanks in advance! John |

That low of miles I'd check to see if the oil pressure sending unit is bad. Common problem on older 5.7 V-8's
