Low Oil Pressure

I've got a 97' 30th Anniversary SS with 24k miles on it. When I let the engine run for about 30 min. in my garage @ idle, the oil pressure drops way down, right below the last bar but not on the red. It takes it about 10-15 min. to do this, I'm assuming as the viscosity of the oil changes.

As soon as I rev the engine back up, the pressure builds back to 40, but drops back down when the car is back in idle.

Should I change up the oil, maybe 20-40, or maybe the oil pump is going out? I was wondering if anyone else has had a problem like this, or if it's normal for this car?

Thanks in advance!

John

That low of miles I'd check to see if the oil pressure sending unit is bad. Common problem on older 5.7 V-8's
