Love my RX CC. With that said there is no way in hell I would run the LLT engines to 8K on the same oil. These engines are known for timing chain issues and oil consumption which seem tie into oil break down. In fact the newer LLT's the DIC is program to 0% of at 5K miles, it’s no longer based on a calculation.

Ignore the DIC and change as follows:
Up to 3K on Conventional
Up to 5K on Synthetic

You should have had something, are you sure the valve is closed? I lot of people with these cans make that mistake when the 1st get it. To be sure the valve is closed put you figure on the edge of the tube with the car running. If you feel suction, it's open.

Just checked mine 2k miles and found no oil. Checked drain valve and it was closed correctly.

Is it hooked up right? In 200 miles there was oil here, that was w/o the VVT-3 cam in. Was hooked up wrong and never caught any oil.

Well, after driving a while heating things up I tried draining it again. Opened the drain valve and after a few seconds a very small amount of light brown oil came out maybe a tablespoon. So it looks like it's working. I would guess it's better to only have a little come out than the large amounts some people are reporting.

I understand what these catch cans are doing. It seems that a person will want to check oil levels more frequently. You wouldn't want to be cruising around with a quart or two low on oil...

I installed one of those on my old LS1 Firehawk and it would catch a couple teaspoons between oil changes, but I thought they resolved the issue with the later LS motors???? I had a trailblazer SS with the LS2 and never installed a catch can and never had any oil issues. It had over 91K on it when i traded it for the SS. I thought the LS1 had problems because of the way they routed the PVC lines. Is this a necessary mod?

All modern cars and light trucks today have this issue...some worse than others, but they all suffer to some extent.

We install these on fleet vans and light trucks and the owners say they are getting 1-3 MPG improvement since the ECU is not pulling timing due to the detonation.

I thought RevXtreme went out of business. You guys did some work on my white firehawk about 8-9 years ago.

I think I will take off my breather and run it with the oem oil cap. See if it catches more oil that way.
