Mine was built on 4/4/12 and the dealer did the fixes before I even took delivery. And the fixes were already supposed to be in the car from the factory. The headliner bracket was left alone but the tape was applied. 550 miles and top down 11 times. Still looks good after 3 weeks

I get my roof "enhanced" next week at the largest Chevy dealer in the area. I hope that they don't make things worse since I don't have a leak yet, even though there is some evidence of rubbing. The only upside I see aside from further damage being prevented is that I get to look at new SS' and possibly a new ZL-1 when I visit the dealership.

Got mine back yesterday from Good Chev in Renton, WA. He went in for the enhancement but came out with a new top also. So far so good, I have cycled it several times and can't see the top coming anywhere close to where the pinch point used to be. The tape seems "tacky" (not in the sticky way) and doesn't look like it will last there very long.
He also got the trunk seal replaced since the wire harness had rubbed it off. Rear window trim had come off, and couldn't be reseated so they replaced it, and the two rear windows were making a horrible noise, they have ordered new regulators to be replaced next week.
All in all, very pleased with Good Chev, they seem to care about theirs and the GM reputation.

Had mine done at Suburban Chevrolet in Eden Prairie, MN. Talk to the body shop mgr Eric for vert issues. Thrilled with the service and professional treatment.

As for the results, so far so good. It has been rainy for several weeks but we are due for some days of sunshine soon which will allow me more time to test the rubbing. The sound is significantly better though.

Enhancements done at Dan Murrays Chev, appears to be good. Much less road noise from the rear windows after the work was done. Car was washed by them before beginning work as to not scratch the car with any dirt on it, very nice of them to do that.

Rear trunk seal needs to be replaced as wire harness has almost sawed through it and part should be here next week. Inspected the 2012's on the lot and wire harness is slightly re-located from 2011 year so it won't rub as much. Going to see what we can do to modify this so it works better, with the dealers help.

That's the way mine was, when they unhooked the harness it untwisted and that was all it took. We open and closed it slowly several times and now it doesn't get near the new seal.

Where is this harness problem you speak of? I want to check it in mine. Thanks :-)

It's the wire bundle harness for the light in the trunk lid.

If you open up your trunk, the harness comes from the light back towards the rear of the lid on the right hand side and it may be rubbing away your trunk seal.

If I wasn't at work I'd take a picture and post, but it's pretty easy to spot if it's rubbed away. Also check the wire harness to make sure the harness casing hasn't worn away exposing wires.

I will be calling my dealer back in the near future to tell them that I will expect this to be made right, even if it involves a new top. I am hesitant to do a new top however, because there is nothing else wrong.....no bad wind noise, no water leaks, etc.
Has your concern been resolved? Please feel free to contact me or Jeff if you need more assistance. I would be interested to here how it went at the dealer. Thank you in advance.

I had mine done at Lannan Chevrolet in Lowell, MA. On my first visit they didn't have the right tape, but they got it for the next day and on my second visit they did the whole job in a little over an hour. The top appears to fit a little better (not that it was bad to start with) and there is absolutely no wind noise below about 75mph. I haven't seen a leak yet, but I also haven't had the opportunity to put the top down as it's been raining since the work was done.

There also appeared to be at least two other Camaros in for the same work when I dropped it off.

Thanks for your interest Tricia, I am still evaluating it. After a few more up/down top days I should have a better idea. My dealer has been pretty good about it to this point, if I need some assistance I will be in touch.

Thanks again for all your help with our issues.

Had my top replaced 3 weeks ago. It was outsourced to one of the best top shops (I know the reputation of the top shop because I've used them before on other cars, and they do all high end cars. They've done about 10 Camaro top replacements, with some having to return for windnoise or marks but no leaks). Windnoise is much less than it was with my old top, but is still loud on the highway. Since replacement top has been down about 4x. Noticed some white marks in center of top that easily rub out. However, yesterday, noticed the infamous V on the passenger side with starting to rub away material on the edge by the stiching. Dealer has been very nice. Bringing it in this week to have them take a look. If they can fix what's causing this new rubbing, don't want another new top, but won't put the top down until they see if they can fix it. Enhancements were down carefully by the top shop. So this is obviously a GM design defect, since the top shop is outstanding.

Taking mine in today for the first time on this issue to Chevrolet of Puyallup in WA. They admit that they've never worked on a convertible and some of the good folks on the Facebook Convertible Top page suggested alternate locations. I figure I'll let them look at it, but not do anything major. Just thought I'd put this out in case someone's had any bad experiences with their shop and to let Jeff and Tricia see a "before" post in case things go south "after"

Got mine done at Paddock Chevrolet in Kenmore NY today. It looked good when I picked it up they even brushed out the marks I had and they are less noticable. Need to drive it with the top down to see if it works as a permanent fix. I have been happy with their service department so far on everything I have had done there so I am cautiously optimistic.

Paddock

Paddock is supposed to be very good and sells a lot of Verts, which is key, so they should have the expertise.

Lithia of South Anchorage turned me away when I went in with the letter in hand. They said I didn't come in mentioning road noise, so they don't have to do it.

I'm reading some folks on here had the work done, even with no problems. Was my dealer just misinformed?

I would say yes, they are misinformed. I have the letter in front of me and nowhere does it say "road noise".
If you received the letter then the work should be performed.

Well Max goes back into the dealer on Monday. After a week of cycling the top up and down there are issues:
When the top is down and seated it is quite noticeable that the top isn't even. The passenger side is about 3 inches higher than the driver side.
When putting the top back up sometimes the latch won't latch and when it does it latch isn't flush anymore when stowed.
And I realized that the back window isn't tinted like I had put on the previous top so they are sending it into the tint shop as well.

Here is a statement directly from the program bulletin to Dealers from GM this bulletin. The way I read this is if your vin is listed, the dealerships are REQUIRED to do this whether you complain about the problem or not.

Bulletin No.:12052
Date:April 2012
DEALER PROGRAM RESPONSIBILITY
All unsold new vehicles in dealers' possession and subject to this program must be held and
inspected/repaired per the service procedure of this program bulletin before customers take
possession of these vehicles.
Dealers are to service all vehicles subject to this program at no charge to customers,
regardless of mileage, age of vehicle, or ownership, through April 30, 2014.
Customers who have recently purchased vehicles sold from your vehicle inventory, and for
which there is no customer information indicated on the involved vehicle listing, are to be
contacted by the dealer. Arrangements are to be made to make the required correction
according to the instructions contained in this bulletin. A copy of the customer letter is provided
in this bulletin for your use in contacting customers. Program follow-up cards should not be
used for this purpose, since the customer may not as yet have received the notification letter.
In summary, whenever a vehicle subject to this program enters your vehicle inventory, or is in
your facility for service through April 30, 2014, you must take the steps necessary to be sure the
program correction has been made before selling or releasing the vehicle.
