brake rotor ?
Does anybody run the R1 concepts drilled and slotted rotors? I have Brembo drilled rotors on car and in need of brakes. The Brembos appear to have some hard spots on them. I want to replace them but just don't want to be unhappy with decsion. Thanks

i dont run the R1 but i have DBA 4000 rotors and carbotech xp8/xp10 for track use and am very happy with them. beat the crap out of them at RA a few weeks ago and no vibration or out of round issues... i do have a gosh awful squeek/squeel when braking but that is the pads themselves... i will be switching to bobcats soon for daily use... but man oh man i will miss the bite of those xps!
the reason i post this is because the dbas are slotted only which i find is better for hard braking and track use... less likely to crack and shatter like drilled... i have seen my fair share of cracked and shattered Z06 rotors due to the drilled holes.

DBA makes a quality rotor, and for a better than OEM replacement is what we would suggest. If you're planning on aggressively Autoxing or taking the car to a road course we would strongly suggest avoiding drilled rotors. Slots typically aren't an issue since a quality manufacturer will cast the rotor with the slots in the rotor. Most manufacturers of cheaper drilled rotors do it as a post casting machine process which can weaken the rotor and give you issues if you're running the car really hard. |

...so if I'm looking at new rotors from R1 with 4 choices, the smart move is to get the slotted rotors? I will NOT be doing any racing/auto cross.....just plain, everyday driving.
