What are the differences between the waterless wash and the detail spray since neither add protection to the finish. Just trying to figure out if i really need both.

Waterless wash is jist that..to wash ur car when it is lightly dusted..u would use detail spray after to give it a shine

Would u bother waterless wash if u use a California duster for light dusting? Seems like it would
cheaper that way then use detail spray as needed. Of course the duster wont do much for love bugs.

The waterless wash does a better job then the duster..but u gotta use the waffle weave.towels with it

ok, thanks for the replies, guess the real question whats different in Adams waterless wash and Mequiars quick mist and wipe. I already have two bottles of that, would like to hear from anyone that has tried both.

ww has more lubricity but no gloss enhancer. ds has gloss enhancers but not as much lubricity.

Basically the base of the 2 chemicals is identical... where they start to differ is with the additives.

Detail Spray leaves a gloss enhancer behind that will give you paint a little added shine.

Waterless doesn't have that gloss enhancer, instead its replaced by a high lubricity emulsifier that makes dust removal safer.

Basically you'd use Waterless for dust removal, Detail Spray for adding gloss. Figuring that you'll do dust removal more often than needing gloss waterless makes more sense as it costs less per oz.

Why do you guys recommend using detail spray to clay with instead of waterless wash? If it's slippier wouldn't it be better to use for claying?

a tad too slippery is the problem... it works a little too well at keeping the clay moving and doesn't allow it to work as it should. The only times I've used waterless to successfully clay is when claying wet, and with a good amount of water on the surface as it seemed to cut down on the slickness by diluting the waterless.

the detail spray has just the right amount of 'slip' to it that allows the clay to slide, but not so much that it doesn't work.
