Boss is now #3, and...

...I don't care, I still love it. First the mighty ZL1 comes and steals my thunder and quickly thereafter the Shelby GT500 comes out all buffed and ready to take on the ZL1 (Still say it's a drivers race, wherever it's run). I'm still happy with my car and even more thrilled to, hopefully, get a chance to cruise alongside a ZL1 or GT500 and for that matter the newest Challenger (in the kick ass colours I wish Ford and GM offered) in the near future. Great times for us car folks.

See you all at the next track day or cruise night. Have a great weekend all!

I still think your Boss will go down in the history books as the most complete Mustang ever built.

Dude - why shouldn't you still love it?!!! It's a bad@$$ car. All that matters is what it means to you

That's the perfect attitude . The only person a car has to satisfied is its owner. There will always be faster/nicer/more expensive cars...

If you ask me, the Boss is the best value out of all 3. You're getting a ton for your money there.

Thanks for the kind words guys. Glad to see people who get me hang out here. I may rag on the Camaro from time to time but I still love that it's back, bad and beautiful. And it's all in good fun like back in the day when I had a Cougar, my best bud a Charger and a couple of the guys we hung with a Javelin and Camaro SS. We were relentless. Too bad the V6 guys are so sensitive. Think I may have teased them too much today and offended a couple.

The Boss is badass in its own right. The GT500 is obviously going to be faster but all indications are that the ZL1 vs Boss will be a closer race than GT500 vs ZL1 by looking at the trap speeds

Nothing wrong with the Boss. I like it a lot more than my 2011 GT500. My car has been getting tons of attention at Cruisin OC this weekend. The ZL1's won't run me though... :(

You could always take the afternoon off and bolt up a 3.6L Kenne Bell which catapult you to 141mph traps and 9's with a good 60 foot then you can call it #1 as it will be quicker then a Veyron. I cant think of any other new car that can trap 141mph with such little mods on such an affordable car.

I'd agree with this. What is there, about a 2mph difference between the Boss and ZL1 trap speeds? The GT500 is in a completely different category.

But bang for the buck definitely goes to the Boss. Not only is very impressive in stock form, but the mod potential with the forged engine brings it over the top, and all for 15 to 20 grand less than the ZL1 or GT500. You do give up some creature comforts, but for pure performance for the price it's unbeatable.

Now once the 1LE comes out, get ready to be knocked out of the top 3 (if it lives up to the hype)

After reading everything I could about the ZL1 and the new GT500 I've come arouņd to thinking I have the best all round Pont car and if I were to buy a Camaro it would indeed be the 1LE. I await the reviews.

You know, if I was in the market to replace my C6 Z06, I would be looking at a Boss 302 before the ZL1/GT500 believe it or not.

The price is right, my personal preference and interest is in N/A motors, and the damn thing spins to 7500 rpm.

At least until the C7 corvette is out in a couple years.

If the rumors about the next gen mustang are true, I doubt it.

A little bit smaller, a little bit lighter, IRS, probably direct injection or some other method of getting another 30 horses. If that doesn't sound like the recipe for a better Boss, I don't know what would.

To me, the current platform seems tailor made for the GT500. Little bigger, little heavier, little more comfortable, live rear axle. The next gen sounds like it will be the right platform for the Boss.
