I also own Vettes and a Jeep Wrangler....both of which draw waves from other owners, too. So I suspect I wave at the "wrong" car more often than I even realize.

My granny sedan 4 cylinder Malibu I recently acquired makes me appreciate my Camaro so much more. Sometimes I act too ****y in the 'bu then I see a fly car and like damnit I'm not in my Camaro so ya, but for me it's reverse.

I have occasionally found myself in my Dakota trying to shift into 6th on the highway only to have the grinding on reverse remind me I'm in the wrong vehicle...

Well I have the Carbon Flash/Black Camaro, and a bright aqua interior & exterior 1976 Continental Mark IV. So not easy to forget which one I'm in.

I have caught myself trying to push in the clutch (that is not there) a couple times last week. I was in our service truck at work and used my left foot to push on the brake looking for a clutch to start the thing, and thought "this clutch does not feel right, oh, dummy". Two minutes later after doing some paper work, I tried to push the clutch in again to put the truck in gear. I guess I am now used to driving a stick.

Funny... when I took driver's training it was in an automatic with one of those huge brake pedals. I already knew how to drive a manual, so when I got to a stop sign, stomped on the "clutch" like I would have in my dad's old work truck and ended up locking up the brakes. Instructor's coffee goes flying along with all the papers he was grading, curse words by all the passengers. Fun times.

I have done this in my truck a couple of times. Truck is an auto and I've clipped the brake looking for the clutch. Each time, I've verified that the truck has ABS!

Out running errands, and a IBM pulls up next to me, we both have windows down and I'm obviously checking out his car. And I'm thinking, duh, they are the same color stupid. Now as they pull away I get a glimpse of my reflection in their door panel as they are pulling away, and have this moment of clarity. OMG I'M IN ONE TOO, but mine is AGM!! He wasn't being a self-absorbed jerk, he was truly complimenting my car. "WE" have nice cars. I drove around the whole rest of the afternoon with the stupid permagrin.

I used to drive a blue Monte Carlo with custom graphics, so I was used to getting the "nice car" comments, and for a moment I totally forgot I was in my new Camaro. Does anyone else have those temporary lapses?
Alright, what is your hair color!!!

I used to have a charcol grey 1973 monte carlo with black vinyl top. Loved that car. It was a boat but it hauled ass on the freeway until a piston came apart in the 400 SB.

Anyway, never forget what car I am in, my DD is a 2011 black Chevy Cruze!!!

Yeah, I do. Sometimes I'll drive 3 cars in one day. My company car, 2009 Crown Vic with nifty flashing red/blue LED's, the Camaro and the grocery getter, '89 Century. I'll find myself hopping the Camaro and reaching for the column shifter, or looking for the clutch in the Vic.

I never forget what I'm driving, but I do get used to it, and it always catches me off guard when people pull up next to me and stare, or make a point of telling me how much they love my car. Lately I get a lot of people rolling down their windows when they drive by me so they can hear it, then give me a nod or thumbs up, and then they roll them back up when they pull away. Always puts a smile on my face.

[QUOTE=Fiftydriver;5008013]Alright, what is your hair color!!!

Natural color? Who knows? But I know what you're hinting at, and no, it's not that color (at least not at the moment).

No, my Camaro is too loud and way to different from my Neon and Equinox to forget I'm in it.
