My bank sends me an email any time a debit transaction exceeds $125.

Happened to me twice once with a personal credit card once with a comoany card. Found out an email adress for the culprit (he had ordered a computerand I called the company and before I told them of the fraud they volunteered lots of info, once I told them of fraud told me couldnt tell me anything) Got some satisfaction of sending some f u emails. Since I hadnt ever used my personal credit card but for a purchase at walmart they figured the a hole got my numbers from their system

Nice post.

As he confirmed it's a weekly paycheck.

And even if not your post isn't warranted, wanted, or worth anything good.

Dudes 21 years old and a student who can afford and wants this car. Wish I could turn back the clock 20 years and just make it happen.

Thank you for nothing inspiring or helpful.

Could not agree more. Some off us have different priorities than Saving a lot of money and staying in. We like to llive a life doing whatever the hell we want and spend as much money as I have.

I can tell you I have fun every day of my life.

I hope your bank can get you reimbursed quickly.

I had someone steal my credit card info at Applebee's once, our waiter. I couldn't find my debit card when the bill came, so I have him a credit card that had never been used. The next day the credit card company was calling me to ask why I was trying to put in an order with Dell that exceeded my credit limit. I went back to Applebee's and the waiter admitted it to his manager.

That sucks. I had a roomate's girlfriend steal a credit card and rack up 6k - she bought jewelry and hocked it. I had the hock slips and witnesses but my credit card company and the police would not charge her. They said it was too commonplace. This was in the early 90s! I was reimbursed by the credit card company, but for christs sake, no wonder these people keep doing this, it's easy to get away with!
AdamZ, did you try calling these stores and see if they had any video footage of this thief in action?

For real though. What a rude thing to say!

Adam-- same thing happened to me last spring. My card got stolen and there was like $3000 of charges racked up for airline tickets, etc. My bank called me immediately when they saw all the charges coming in and I had to dispute everything. It all worked out but it was kind of a pain.

Hope it all works out smoothly.

My bank will block my card if it's used out of state. I had it blocked once when I was in Canada, now I know to pre-notify them if I'm travelling.

I had something similar happen to me also. I was with some friends...they payed cash and I used a card. The waitress put both meals on my card then pocketed the cash. Too bad I am good friends with her manager and I keep close track of my bank accounts. Got that bitch fired.

Well she didn't physically have my card. So I assume these would all be online orders.

So, this has basically happened to everyone on this post. Everyone had a story. So...what the **** is wrong with so many people doing this? I swear to god if people would put as much effort into being productive in life as they do in selling drugs, fraud, selling sex slaves, etc. The world would be a great place. Like really? I wish all these low lived would all get together and kill themselves.

My Capital One card was compromised last week. I pay my bills with it and pay it off. Used it for a haircut then two days later had $8500 worth of fraudulent charges on it. They caught it quickly because they know my habits and shut it down quickly.

Your bank will get it resolved quickly for you. Best of luck man.

Feel for you. Sure sucks ass.

Hope they catch 'em. If they try that is. The purchases were all at POS (registers) so they should be on store video.

Does anyone notice what I am getting at? Why the **** can't people just get off there asses and get a job jesus christ. I pay enough in taxes to undeserving people and illegals. I do not need you straight stealing my card number to add to this. Please let this person get shot right in the eye. From where this person has been it looks like a female with children? I hope she gets caught and her children taken away from her. Burn in hell **** this. I know I will get it all back...but this is ****ing memorial weekend then it will take the bank a couple days to put it back in at least. I have no money to eat, get gas, or pay bills for a week. What the ****.

Damn Bro, that SUX!!! even we aren't immune. Just before I got on the job someone got ahold of my personal stuff as well....luckily Dell called me about "my" computer order of 4 top of the line computers....the perps got one detail wrong in my info which set off the red flag. For 2 weeks I got credit cards in the mail...luckily they couldn't figure out how to send it anywhere else but my address. Sears sent me a second card eventhough I had one acct that I hadn't used in 2 yrs. Someone had a DE license with my info on it and applied for a Lowes card in the town I lived in..... Wouldn't I love to stop that guy on a traffic stop and he had me a license with my info on it.....That would be a bad day for him

Call the credit bureaus and set a fraud alert on your credit.

Sucks dude. Atleast the bank will take care of you I'm sure. One day I got a call from my bank and they said they froze my account because of some suspicious spending. I drive up there and apparently two of my checks had been wrote and cashed against my account. They told me I NEVER did that before and almost exclusively use my debit card, so they were concerned. Turns out my mother (ex) boyfriend had stolen two checks out of my check book.

Sometimes I even get a new debit card in the mail for no reason saying someone may have compromised sensitive information and such an amount of people were getting new debit cards with new security numbers just in case and the old ones were canceled.

Happened to me as well. Some jackass bought a disney cruise, a crap ton of i-tunes songs and what not, among other stuff. Racked up 5g's. According to the bank, they found out who it was but didn't do anything due to the fact that it was such a "minimal" amount.

the bank reversed the charges and I got my money back (all of it).

Relax first and foremost. Call your bank, address the issue. And be careful on what online purchases you make as well as using your debit/check card at gas stations. There are ways for people to come up right behind you and scan your #s on a blank card.

This has happened to me more times then I care to count. I've had my debit card stolen a few times and my Discover card once.

I only knew about my first issue because the douche used MY email to sing up for some webstit ethey charge fees for and I got a "welcome Susan" email -- I'm not Susan....so I went to the site, said I lost my password, and they emailed it to me and I got into the b*tches account -- but the credit card she had on there wasn't mine (too bad I couldn't see the whole thing - but the last 4 didn't match) so she was probably changing the cards for each month the stupid **** . So I called the bank and explained everything. Bank reversed everything pretty quickly once I signed the waiver saying I did not make the charges.
Once they stopped a charge before it even hit because they were aware that a lot of cards had been compromised but neglegted to tell ME before they cancelled my card and I looked like an a**hole using it. But still, at least they were looking out for this stuff.

My Discover card pi**ed me off though - because some b*tch tried to buy an airmattress with it and I called b/c it put me over limit and I was charged fees ontop of it - and they "did an investigation" and never reversed the charge b/c it looked valid to them....um...I live in MA - this btch bought the airmattress online, and had it sent to herself in friggen MN or something - really?? I once used a store card to order stuff and have it sent to my ex's house (i.e. in MY NAME at his address) and the company called me like "is this you?" and made me verify everything before they'd ship my items -- which was nice. But my major credit card thinks I ship things randomly around the country?

I did get it reversed after I called and got mad at them for being stupid. Anyone with half a brain cell could see that looked clearly like fraud.

Yup, I had this happen to me a few times in the past. Someone charged up my card in LA playing online poker. Luckily, I manage ALL my finances EVERY morning and go over EVERY transaction. I caught it less than 24 hours and the credit card company took care of it.
