Just grabbed a 2012 Camaro 2LT RS
I've officially owned it for about 6 hours...
I LOVE IT! Amazing how many people have stopped me and said something to me about it so far. While driving, 2 groups of people commented "DAMN THATS NICE" and "WOW LOOK AT THAT", then my neighbors huddled around when I came home... I'm not big on attention, as I came from an 05 TrailBlazer. Kind of a shock. Although...I DO need some tips. This forum seems filled with information, specifics, what not to do, what to do...so I ask all of you: Give me your 3 most basic tips, tricks or advice points about owning a camaro (IE, wash properly, tips while washing, tips when dealing with people who want to make comments about your car (if theyre negative), etc.) Anything you can think of. Would be awesome if you could link me to threads as well. First and foremost, it's going to rain all week in Pittsburgh...so I'm going to wait until it stops for a few days and order some of that Adam's car wash stuff and high quality wash mits/drying rags etc. Any recommendations? I'm not going to be EXTREMELY anal about the cosmetic part/appearance, but I do not want to be leaving swirls, streaks, smudges, etc. |

Sweet car. Enjoy it.
As for tips, there are so many, the only tip I can give you is spend some time on here and read the threads in the specific subforums. The stickied threads are a good place to start and from there, use search. For cleaning/detailing, Junkman2000 is the man with all the great knowledge and info. |

first thing I would go to the sub forums before you wash or wax her- no sense in putting swirl marks on it before you get the chance to show her off.

My question to you is how many times today have you parked it, only to find another excuse to take it for a drive and do such?

BreakingBad, CONGRATS on the new ride, and Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, wive's, husbands and boyfriends here don't care....and take it easy.
![]() oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here. Welcome!!
