JBA is killer loud. I've been around their demo car a lot and if I wouldn't have been a test mule for BBK, I would have their full Comp setup on my car. There are sound clips of it on here, but they do not do it justice!

I'm using the BBK LT headers, factory mids and JBA axle back. With the little bullets they call mufflers, it's LOUD.

Just to warn you, with a muffler delete and long tube headers it will be way too loud. I had a delete when i added headers and it gave me a headache after a 15 minute ride and sounded like a jet. I had my stock mufflers put back on and it is was still plenty loud just more tolerable.

Of your two choices I would easily go with Kooks...made in America and they fit. If it were my car then I would put ARH headers on it.

If money is an issue, i'd suggest 304L Stainless Works headers. TSP has great prices on their headers but they are out of stock till the end of this month.

I can vouch for Ted's header tune. Worked wonders on my car.

Couldn't agree more. They are the only headers to go with.

Dude, flip a coin. Kooks, ARH, Stainless Works, Dynatechs, Doug Thorley, JBA, BBK.........Hell, even OBX........they will all be loud and offer like gains. As you can see, Kooks and ARH are popular on this site. I suggest you do some research and make a decision based apon that.

From your two choices, I would pick Kooks. I have them and the fit and finish is top notch.

There are a lot of features out there to consider when buying headers. There are a lot of choices, and a lot of conjecture out there just because this is a big market with a lot of competitors fighting for business. It is easy to to say "pipe is pipe" and pick one based on price or whatever, but there are features that matter.

Your typical full featured header on the market today such as Kooks includes-
  • All 304 stainless, TIG welded construction
  • Merge collectors
  • Merge Spikes
  • Blended primary to flange ports
  • All O2 bungs welded in
  • Ball and socket connection at the header and the mid pipe (less clamps is good).
  • Flanges welded inside and out.
  • Single piece primaries..some headers use multiple lengths of pipe welded togethor to make one primary, which is not as strong.
  • Made in the USA (say what you will..but a header is going to be made better when the person makes it knows what they are making, and how it will be used)
  • Lifetime warranty
So in theory, the best header on the market would include all of the above. If you research it however, very few headers can meet that full punch list so to say. We sell and promote Kooks heavily because they meet all those bullets, and offer one of the best prices on the market doing so.

JBA is a good "mid range" header. It is stainless, which is nice, but it is 409 stainless, not 304. 304 does not rust at all..it may bronze, but it will not rust. 409 on the other hand will develop surface rust, but not rust through. Also, JBA will not have the premium features I listed above like merge spikes/collectors, the nice hand porting and so forth. But they are cheaper..so you save money.

If you have questions, feel free to call is. Number is in the sig.
