Way back when the early 5th Gens were running around on itty bitty teeny weenie 23mm sway bars. Pedders introduced the 27mm Front and Rear Adjustable bars along with the 32mm Adjustable Rear bar. They were the best sway bar combination we could make. Times change. The FE4 increased the bar size. The ZL1 took a huge leap forward to almost Pedders Spec Sway Bars 25mm front and 28mm rear. The 1LE will bring the 27mm front and 28mm rear bars to the OEM side.

Pedders has responded to these changes with ZL1 sway bar upgrades using a 27mm adjustable front and 32mm rear bars. The new FE4 / FE5 / FE6 outboard mount rear bars are a HUGE improvement over the older style in board mount bars. The results with our new Z style bar package are nothing short of amazing. We ran the LPE / Pedders Camaro at the OPTIMA Qualifying event at the end of the Hot Rod Power Tour. The L/28 battled with a LG Motorsports highly modified ZR1 Vette for the fastest road course lap. We came close, but were 1.4 seconds off the pace. When I reviewed the data we logged on track I found that had our driver put together his best times in all 14 lap sectors we would have beaten the ZR1 by more than 1.5 seconds. I am sure that the LG people have similar information. Typically, a driver's Theoretical best lap is closer than 1.5 seconds to his actual fastest lap. Our driver has had minimal seat time and that accounts for the wide spread. It is interesting that he clocked 5 of his fastest sector on his last lap leading us to believe that the gap between actual and theoretical laps times will shrink.

This is no ordinary ZR1.

Long story short, it is time to say good-bye to our 27mm rear bar. It will be replaced with our 27mm front and 32mm rear inboard mount bars. With the rear bar set to full soft it delivers a dramatic improvement over the stock bars while remaining civil in terms of oversteer when the front bar is set to full hard. Flip them to full soft front and full hard rear and you're 5th Gen is transformed into a track animal.
