outside of the RI show...this was the best show ive ever been to...

i was parked next to a 90s corvette a 58 chevy and a 65 fairlane....my car drew the most attention...

the GoodGuys staff was awesome...even tho the guy took my pal in a 68 Camaro SS/RS in Bahama Blue away from me and put him in the Winner Circle...i was almost sure I would have been picked to sit next to him...instead they put him next to a bright blue Challenger

O well...i started to get an itch for the Autocross course...so i took my car out of her spot and proceeded to cruise the entire grounds over to the course...i started to tremble i was...ill admit...a little intimidated...

Tech was pretty easy...popped the hood the guy looked it over...i signed a waiver and into line i went...watching closely to learn the turns

Up i come...to the drag strip like double yellow signals....the announcer distracted me so when it turned green i was about 2 or 3 seconds slow...because the course was so small (35mph course...safety reasons im sure)...i wasnt really able to get on it...turn one was a doozy...it surprised the hell outa me and when i revved to swing her around...i slid right into a cone....barrelled right over it...but kept going...2nd gear the whole track...first lap was hairy to say the least...previous runners laid down so much rubber it was like a skating rink out there...2nd lap i took a bit different line and man did she hug the turns like a mother hugs her newborn...i absolutely LOVED the squealing tires around every turn...i will say this..the drop springs help tremendously...came to a stop and the announcer noticed the smile on my face...my heartrate was probably 200

i exited the track and began inspection to make sure wacking that cone at 30mph didnt damage anything...not a mark...thank god

i overheard my time of 1:03:01..but you know what...i didnt care...i had a blast...first time on a course to really see what this car can do...and today...more than ever...im proud to be a new Camaro owner and a member of NEC5

back to my spot for another hour or so...and people came over to see how i liked the course...and asked me why my car didnt roll at all...i said its a Camaro with a nice set of drop springs....

as far as other new Camaros go...i saw only ONE other new Camaro out of maybe 1500 cars...Synergy Green from New Jersey...lots of Challengers believe it or not..they outnumbered Camaros and Mustangs on this day

if they come back next year to the Big E...we should make this an NEC5 event

I have competed with that '68 Camaro the last 2 years at NHMS car show...

It is a pretty cool car.

im ready for the devens show if we are doing that this year....now that i know this cars handling....note to self...take out bag of detailing products before launch...i had bottles and rags scattered all over my trunk LOL
