Piecing together an MRT V2?

I saw someone in another thread on a tight budget wanting an MRT exhaust. Someone suggesting buying the Aero mufflers which is what they use for the V1 and installing them instead of buying the pre-welded kit which is around $500. Has anyone done this for the V2? I'm wondering if it would be possible for me to cut my stock mufflers off, and replace them with the mufflers that they use for the V2 and weld it in place including new tips. I have a sawzall and access to a welder so the tools aren't a problem, I just don't know if anyone has done this before, or if it's even possible. If so, does anyone know what muffler is used with the MRT V2? I want a new exhaust but $500 is a lot since I've done a lot to to it lately and need to try to save some money. Thanks for any info or advice!

Ben

I think I remember someone saying the Aero mufflers aren't the ones that are on v2 but I could be wrong.

Yeah, the other thread said the Aero's were on the V1. From what I've read the V2 seems like the exhaust I want and I thought it would be cheaper to buy each component separately and weld everything together myself. Just don't know if they sell those mufflers separately.

The only reason I got mine was because I got a bonus at work and got a good deal on them from APEX Chase.

Your cant piece it together. I've never seen the mufflers sold seperately.

Yeah, I was thinking that's probably my best bet. I'll probably wait until the fall when it'll be easier to install after the summer heat and keep my eyes open for any sales or used ones up for sale. Thanks for the input guys!

AR25 = Ver1

I think the Ar 35 is the ver 2.

Bought the AR25's for like $95 shipped and had shop fab and weld it in with 4 inch tips for $170

Just spend time on the classifieds here... I got my MRT 2.0 for 275. Local member traded his v6 for a SS and had to put his stock mufflers back on.

this is VERY correct. i dont know what is the mrt 2 are made out of so i have no word in that. honestly i love the mrt 1 as mention on my other post. ( sorry for double post)

this is the way i see the MRT series.

mrt 1 = louder sound and rasp if you wanna call it that? (pitbull)

mrt 2 = still loud but only at high rpm. a more tame muffler with still a bite ( yorki )

I love the aero25's. its gets more deeper i think once you put a few thousand miles on them.

I didnt like the nrt tips eitheir and the price thats why I just bought the mufflers and had the shop put on 4 inch tips. Get the double walled tips with a slight cut.

Alltogether with mufflers , tips, piping and welding it cost me about $270.

Yeah, I think I'll be looking at the classifieds for a take off. I definitely want the V2 since I don't want a lot of noise or rasp all the time, just when I really hit it. Thanks for the input guys!
