Cannot wait.......

To get rid of this car and the awful brake squeal. Unreal to me that such an expensive and highly R&D'd vehicle would have such an issue.

Yes, I am bitching and moaning about this because I really do not agree with the fact that it is "normal".

Feel free to bash if you need to. I will be trading in my SS around the end of the year.

No bashing is appropriate. The SS brakes work exceptionally well. They are a great combination of street and track pad. Performance brakes squeal. The better the pad performance the noisier the pad.

What vehicles are you looking at?

I hear you. I agree with you with e exception of the part that performance brakes make noise. I have had several vehicles with performance brakes that did not squeak/squeal. Most recently a 370z with the performance brakes.

I will be looking at a new 5.0, wrx sti, maybe even that new scion/Subaru. Might even look at an older M3 pr M5.

I just really hate the terrible sound this cars brakes make. Kills me.

Lighter cars require less pad. If you like your Camaro with the exception of the brake noise there are a couple of fixes.

I have looked into the fixes but I just dont agree with having to spend money on things that shouldnt need to be replaced just yet. These brakes are supposed to last a while and simply replacing a pad is not gonna help the car stop any better.

I dont know, its a tough call because I do like the car but this squealing is really driving me nuts.

Disc brake quiet paste is dirt cheap compared to a new car.

Bedding can make a huge difference. One thing we want to confirm is that it is a pad based squeal and not the screech from the worn pad tab.

I tried that paste stuff. Ive cleaned the entire braking system.

Due to it being so expensive to trade, I will likely just swap out the rotors and pads at the earliest possible time. Just gotta raise the dinero.

Thank you all for the suggestions and assistance.

I can imagine how irritating the squeal is. Stuff like that drives me crazy. I urge you to seek out a remedy for the noise for a while longer. Trading in your car you will not win in the long run and if you like the Camaro it is worth a try. You know what they say, "The grass is always greener on the other side." What I mean by that is what if you trade it in and get another car that something completely different drives you nuts because of a sound or the way it operates or what ever the reason. You never find out the complete details of anything or anyone until you have been around them or it for several months. Just my $.02. You can tell me to mind my own business or even worse. Just my past experience. I have shot myself in the foot more times than I care to think about.

Been there done that as well. I would love to still be driving my 370 right now. Anyway, I plan on swapping out the pads and rotors with new parts, not oem, and hope that does the trick. I have already taken the pads out and put that disc brake quiet stuff and it only lasted about 20 miles.

Thanks for the good advice tho.

Make sure your rotors are clean and then bed the brake pads in properly
