Algona Pics!

Well after almost a month of being gone (from Camaro 5), here are a few of the pictures I took at the Algona Days Show 'n Shine.

There were three 5th Gens there (all from C5) and Eulysses (spelling?) popped by late in the day after work to say hello!

So Here we go:

Us!

The Winners Are:

And the heartbreaker! All of us beautiful 5th Gens (and many other great cars) lost out to an almost bone stock 2002 Mustang with a dirty engine, worn and torn appolstery BUT it had LAMBO DOORS!!! Hah, ah well, it was a young guy probably about 20-nothing. Made his day I'm sure so

A few random shots:

It was a smaller show (50-60 cars) but the sun was shinning and we had lots of fun! It was good to see Scotty and Melody again and meet their Spouses and to meet Eulysses!

Heya Infinite-T! Good to see you at the Milton Rock the Park! I was actually "persuaded" by the parking folks to register my car, but hey, I'm glad I did!! Since I had to bail early, who won?

I like pics! It's kind of funny that you blurred my license plate out. But I appreciate the sentiment.

Yeah i have found it hard to do some shows as they are a bit..."slanted" when u see who won your like WTH...its tough to do all the work and not see much recognition for it, not that its what we do shows for as we all like talking to everyone and having fun but its abit dissapointing when u see who won sometimes, so i have been leaving before the awards part.

Hey hey!

It was nice meeting you and your family too.

I don't remember all of the winners but none of them were newer than 1970. The first place one was the Adams family "death rod".

Both this one and the Algona show were all "peoples choice" voting. Which I guess is fine, because then you feel that maybe the judging is a little less biased. But that also doesn't keep someone from having a big group of friends show up and vote for you 50 times each. Plus, many show are slanted more towards classics. I like to try to find shows more open to late models, and have some kind of "daily driver" category. It gives us folk who drive our cars to work mon-fri and to the show on Sat. a better chance.

I haven't done shows before this for a decade or so. But I go more to hang out with others who have a common interest (nice cars) and hang out and meet with cool people from here or people who just walk by and talk to you. Sure, it would be nice to win something now and then though. Especially the Milton one, first prize was $500 cash! That would have almost paid for the Pfadt stage 2 kit I want.

Yea Scotty, I bleeped out your plates, but I do that to all of em. It probably really doesn't matter, especially since I see the public snapping pictures of our cars all day, but, you never know. :-)

Hopefully there will be a few more good shows to go to before show season is over.
