When you say your payment goes up only 5$ a month.. And you had 24 payments lefT on the V6 and now you have 72 months on the SS... Your kidding yourself to proclaim it only cost 5$ a month..

I'm not sure what your saying, but yes, I think, & would hope most everyone realizes that when they give up their V6 for the SS it's gonna cost more in that you get crap for your trade value & you start over w/a new loan & all that that entails, etc. It's a personal decision & I've decided to make it, but I'm going w/a used 2010 w/low miles & trying to work the best deal I can (because I found another one...& so the games really begin).

Of course I now owe more total, but for my 2010 1LT w/ 23000 miles I got a 2011 loaded w/ 6500 miles (gained V8, leather, sunroof, rally stripes, upgraded audio...etc). For $3/ more of a payment per month.

I think it is a better investment also because with 0% financing my whole payment is going towards the principle and in 3 years I would fully expect to trade it in or sell it again for a profit (not that I plan to).

In terms of my monthly payment, whch is all I was commenting on, I proclaimed exactly what I meant (actually it is $3 more/month not $5, lol).

I would hope that anyone old enough to read this thread and that is considering buying a car will know off the bat that you will have more debt if you trade in a 3 year old car for a new one, regardless of if the payment is the same.

Let me say it since it seems people are getting caught up in semantics....a SS is going to cost you more to own than a LT or LS, period. BUT, it is not a given that you have to LOSE money on trading in your LS or LT.

People DON'T read.

I suggested CarMax and credit unions to the OP, only to see the same things suggested a few posts later.

No big deal. Just ideas thrown out to maybe help the OP, but it illustrates that people generally read the OP and zoom to the end of the thread and reply.

Or, when they do read the posts, they jump all over someone like you for your logic, which if it is good enough for you, who cares what someone in a forum thinks?
