Magnaflow Resonated X-pipe Installed

Ok, its now installed and it costed me $190 after tax to have it installed. Going from MRT1 with no resonators and DT headers to the same combo with the new res x-pipe is huge!

The first and most obvious thing noticed is that all rasp is completely eliminated! Drone is significantly reduced as well while driving on the freeway. Idle has tammed a bit, not as loud at idle but the sound is deeper yet. When you get going with the car in first gear, you notice right away that there is no more high end noise, the car simply will not scream like it used too!

With that said, the lows are still as low as they were before while driving but the highs and rasp are gone 100%. When you get above 3000rpm, I can explain it like all your hearing is the engine, kinda like stock but still way louder.

Performance wise, wow, the car feels much smoother, seriously... when I put the peddle down to the floor, it just seems way more quicker now, I dont know why but I absolutely love it. The shop said that there would definately be a performance gain trading up the h-pipe for the x-pipe, I just didnt think it would be this noticeable.

Noise wise as for turning heads, I'm no where near as loud as before, I dont know whether thats good or bad but the refined sound is just fantastic! It sounds like a factory exhaust but loud and rumbles.

Again, all the high pitched sounds are elimated after 3000rpm so if your wondering if the car gets quieter, I will say yes for sure!

Overall, I'm glad that I've done this mod and I have no intentions of switching back. I just need to get used to not hearing any rasp at all! Next up, I will post how the cold start goes and the first 5minutes of driving when the rasp was just terrible.

I just ordered one to go with my current setup which is BBK LT's w / high flow cats, full 2.5" system from a donor SS all the way back to my MRT v2. Not sure what kind of gain if any I will feel seeing as my system is already a complete 2.5" but I'll let you guys know as soon as I get it installed.

Scott's Camaro does indeed sound great to me, but it is a V8 after all...

Excellent report DJ, I had mine installed yesterday (cost me $125) and I fully agree with everything in your post. Only thing I'd add is that previously in order to spin the wheels changing into 2nd gear I would have to have TC switched off - but not any more

Definitely a mod I like, was always very conscious pulling away at the lights as it always sounded that I was wanting to race people, but now you can pull away more discreetly yet if you want the noise you can still get it with a push to the floor, def feels sharper in the lower gears

I liked mine on Blackbee, DT headers, res x pipe and MRTv2. You always here that the x pipe doesnt do much but from what I noticed and all of you have is that Magnaflow and JDP are right, the bottom to mid range there is a torque boost and maybe 4-6 hp on top. I even noticed some on the SS but took it off as it was to quiet. Thinking on putting in a regular tru x for a bit more bottom end and a bit louder and deeper sound.

With your DT headers and that combo I'm sure it sounds fantastic. DT headers makes just about exhaust for this car sound better.

Has a nice growl and can hear a nice rumble even at idle. Good stuff.
