I'm moving out to the san diego area and was wondering (and hoping) if there are any good auto cross places and car shops out there. For the past 4 years I've been trapped.in areas that hate anything thats not a truck, and am dieing to play a little.

Also on a side note, are a lot of 5th gens getting stolen or broken into out there...i really dont want anything to happen to my car, she's like my 4th kid.

The SCCA runs at Quilcomm stadium occasionally and they also have Friday night drag races there too.

Shops I don't know about.

As for thefts I haven't hear much. What part of town you moving to?

If you dont have your your front plate mounted good for you.. But you mite want to get the eliminator bracket befor you get stoped and you dont even have to drill on your bumper from www.eliminatorbracket.com Welcome to California

Me and the wife agree that regardless of where we live we must have a garage.... I have heard that property crime can be high in some areas.... which is why we intend to live on base in a unit with a garage!

It is coming down to Millington TN, Norfolk VA or Pensacola so we are chosing the lesser of the evils so to speak... my main goal now is anywhere BUT Norfolk.

I'm not sure if you have lived in San Diego before but you rarely see rain so you'll be able to keep your car shined up!

about the front plate: You may want to wait and just chance having no plate... We never had a plate on our Camaro and never got pulled over... for that.

I'm keeping my car registerd in Oklahoma. This will allow me to keep the front plate off and my dark tint. I'm from Texas and hate everything about Oklahoma except for that one little perk.

Tuesday is the first car show in Chula Vista, it start at 5:00 and runs until about 8:00. Someone had mentioned (Gunny) that its ghetto, but the way I look at it, its a car show with plenty of great looking rides. I have a doctor appt. at 4:00 so I will be there afterwards. Anybody up for it.

Hey, I was BORN in Pensacola! Didn't live there long though, family PCS'ed shortly after, but went back through there in '06 for flight school...

If you are moving to Pensacola, PM ME my dad is a realtor there and has helped out friends of mine who have moved there recently...

Okay Im going Saturday come get me then we can go to Santee. LOL!! I should go to the CV car show next week. I missed last week due to friends showing up. But down to go next time. Should be there at 5:30 Maybe some other Camaro's will show up.
