Possible Electric Power Steering Conversion?

Hey Guys,
I was wondering with the ZL1 and the concept 1LE getting electric power steering on the LS3s. I want to know if it will be possible to retrofit our 2010s with the electric power steering system? I like the feeling of electric power steering over the typical pump one. Also no need to worry about heating up the power steering fluid on the track. If anyone knows please let us know.
Thanks

Depends on how they do it. I think it would be possible, but not sure if it would be cost effective to do so. Not sure how much it is going to be tied into the PCM and BCM on the car. Of course it is going to have to know speed, and steering wheel input if it is going to have any variable effort based on car speed.

Hard to say until we see one in person.

Do you have a big problem with hot power steering fluid right now?

No i dont, just want to eliminate the 1 big pulley if possible. Cleans up the engine bay too. I just like the feeling of electric power steering cars. Feels much more responsive to me in my opinion

I'll be curious to know what the weight difference is going to be between them. Looking at the electric setup on the Mustangs I can't see it being to light.

It would free up probably 6-8 hp by not having the PS on there.

Depends on how they do it on how it feels though...some can be very numb.

I hate the way electric power steering feels personally, at least on the Toyotas I've driven.

Might be possible but as Anthony says it depends on how it is integrated into the electronics.
You will at least need to change the rack.

My M3 and M5 had it and its absolutely incredible if its done right... Not sure how GM did with this.. and judging by the way everything else with this car is pretty much polished crap im gonna say its probably not worth it... But dreamers can dream.

The techs @ work in my service dept say it would be way too many man hours of telling your computer you have electric power steering to be worth it. I asked them 2 months ago when I found out the '13 SS has it.
