This has happened twice when I crank the engine the a.c. doesn't work. I have to turn the car off and back on to make it work again. Anybody know why?

I believe you may have a fuse going bad. I had the same thing go on with my ipod plug.

I have the same issue in my 2008 chevy van and turning it from max AC to normal, then back to max seems to fix it.

Had the same problem, had to get the AC recharged at the dealer :(
