P.S. I was torn between CAI and K&N...eventually went with K&N (mixed reviews, I know!) lol! Mostly because of the cost...I went with AutoAnything and with 15% discount I got it for $249 out the door, with free shipping. So, all in all I am pretty happy with it!
can you send me the exact link, im on that site and I dont see any for the 2012 v6 (lfx), if I see it im buying it!

The quality looks very good...does the top seal against the hood to stop from sucking in hot air coming thru the radiator? If you arent sure you could put grease along the top, close the hood and see if the grease is disturbed and where its imprinted on the hood?
I like the CAI intake because top is sealed and the only air that can enter if from the front. Either way you got a smoking deal! Good job

Not possible, K&N isn't even a brand name, apparently.

It certainly looks like it seals (haven't greased it). When I eyeball it, it looks even with the existing weatherstripping that goes along the front edge of the car...and I'm assuming, er, presuming that weatherstripping makes a good seal!

It looks like a cheap Roto-Fab rip-off. After my last K&N install which led to 6 years of burning cats from the factory over-oiled filter and intermittent CEL, I'll pass.

5thGen2LT: you should get the oil breather cap, and remove the clean-side oil tube from your engine and cap the ends off. At WOT, a backflow condition is created which can suck oil out of the valve cover and into the intake. Removing the line prevents this, while the breather insures a separate air source without robbing from your intake feed.

That sucks about the 6 years, and im sorry. As far as K&N I have used them for many years in other cars (v6 camaro 4th gen, and v8 camaro 4th gens) and they worked perfect, no issues.

Thanks for getting back to me via pm. I just ordered this intake, $255 shipped from http://store.newlevelmotorsports.com/ .

Can't wait for it to get here! I have been waiting on a k&n intake since I first drove my Camaro of the lot.

I ordered mine on July 1st for a website (forget the name off the top of my head) and it isn't here yet. I called K&N and they said they will ship out this friday (tomorrow). He didnt really say why they were shipping out this late. I guess a recall would make sense?

hmmm, I certainly haven't heard anything yet. j0s394, funny you should mention that because I just happened to see this thread: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=229971 which shows Phastek Performance taking orders as of 07-10-12. Did the guy on the phone say what specifically the recall was about?
