so the GT500 pretty much takes the performance testings while the ZL1 takes the ride comfort. I am mad now.

The ZL1 also some how won in the Interior Amenities, as an owner of both I'm completely confused.... Even the 13 needs a few things to bring it even close....

When $30k American pony cars can hang with m3's and $50k ones can be seen fit enough to get pitted against gtr's that are $40k more, it's a great time to be an american car guy.

Hell, there's a certain corvette z06 that just shut down a 2012 gtr on willow... That was an awesome competition last month. Great time to buy American.

There's also a viper acr that ran damn near 6:59.99 minutes on the ring! The new srt viper will be a rocket, can't wait.

A camaro ran 7:40's at the ring and a stang goes 202 these days. Pretty fckn bad ass.

(lots of Euro and Japanese cars are great too but they don't pluck at my fun/affordable strings the same way, love me some pagani's but... $$$$ :^()

Any chance the tune on the ZL1 was a little too aggressive?

That was obviously an acknowledged pass me maneuver. Most people who ate getting acquainted with a track and aren't as fast as the people around them pull to the side for faster drivers to pass them.

I've seen vipers get passed by guys in bolt on s2000's. It says more that the driver recognized they're experience on the track isn't enough to attempt to hold position. Classy drivers let others go by if they feel the others have a faster line/car/more experience.

Nothing embarrassing to me. Cheers.

The way that ferrari took off on the straights and the sound was intoxicating.

Looked like old computer racing games, and when you finally get the final car it just takes off and handles on a rail!

It's right next to gas mileage and ergonomics

The Challenger 392 should beat both the GT500 and ZL1 because its more comfy than both put together.

Yeah, I agree. The SRT8 is very comfortable, and there is more room in the back for passengers too.

As far as comfort between the ZL1 and the GT500 though, I always thought the Recaros were pretty damn comfortable.

Ya it's nice to have a cushy car but honestly I like muscle to be raw and visceral. I'm an outcast I guess but I like delrin, tubular steel and aluminum, solid aluminum, hardened steel, billet steel, etc to make up my chassis and suspension. Electronic this and that are great in my fx35 but for my fun car, I like that race car non isolated, fully connected feel. Ya it's tougher to drive and rough but hey, I drive an fx daily for comfort, I like the idea of a viper or 65 Shelby cobra roadster more so than a cts-v or amg style car.

The comparisons remind me of the old Vettes vs. Vipers. Both great cars but in totally different ways.

That's a very good example. A 2002 gts was a faster car in a line and on some tracks back than a z06 of the time but it was more crude and had brake issues. It's issues we're non abs related consistency, today's gt500 comes its pedestrian grade brake fluid that's easily addressed for track goers.

Zl1 vs gt500 is suprisingly similar. One car is refined and exemplary for daily driving while being plenty fast and faster on some road courses, the gt500 is faster in a line and faster on some courses but it's brakes can fade on the factory setup fluid and pads.

One also has medium gearing, the other has gearing to get to the moon. Ones cheaper, ones pricier, etc.

All 4 are great cars, god bless America damnit.

Thanks, Erik
