Any news yet about whether it is possible to delete the matte black hood? I love a car with tossable handling and am very interested, but not with that type of kit advertising its identity. I'd like it configured as a conservative sleeper rather than as a "look at me" teen ride.

I think it's a wrap.

I ordered mine today. Don't have to have the options in the order for 3 weeks so I got homework to do quick. Some of you guys bash the black rims but I will say they are easy to clean and don't look dirty after 3 days of driving. I'm glad my ZL1 has black calipers, red is a bummer look on IOM paint. I wish every interior color was available in all exterior colors, don't quite get the limitation. So, perhaps red because of the red calipers. I wish they would do the Carbon Edition, then gray would rock it hard. Dunno , but the OG 1LE was lighter than the non. Manual windows and no A/C. Be awesome if there were no back seats and had a factory roll bar. The Laguna Seca Mustang has that, it's cool as Hell.

What limitations have you found ordering with respect to interior/exterior colors? I am talking to a dealer about a 1LE, but haven't got down to submitting an order. Are there exterior colors not available?

Why would there be limitations? It's essentially a track pack that is added to a SS. I don't see why they would limit exterior or interior colors.

Thanks GearheadSS. Couldn't imagine why there would be limitations, but then we are dealing with GM. Understand BRM color may be delayed though? No problem as I am leaning toward RJT. Wished Carbon Flash was an option!!!

Matte black hood wrap

Does this mean that it can be easily removed by the dealer on delivery with absolutely no paint damage? Will dealers typically do this?

No more RJT. Sorry. It's been replaced with CRT.

Another bit of bad news on availability, NPP exhaust won't be produced until late August. I am now thinking I will get to drive around the block a few times and then put my car away for the winter.

Did that just go on constraint? There are 2013's arriving at dealers now with NPP

–SS Performance Package (RPO: 1LE) scheduled to start production Q3 2012
•No availability during this consensus cycles
•Ordering should begin later this month or in August

Darn. Didn't they use CRT on early Camaros? Need to see it in person on a car (preferably a Camaro) before I settle for CRT. May have to go "back in black" like my '69 Chevelle and '79 Camaro.

I am anxious for Chevrolet to update their website and announce pricing so you can build it out and see what you're looking at price-wise for the options you want. Any information on when this will come about?

GM offered "DX3 STRIPE DELETE" option on the 45th anniversary cars so let's hope they offer the same here. It's a win-win because the owner and GM saves money and time.

I think what they mean by ''wrap'' is wrapping of items in a single package.
In other words, the vehicle comes as is, and can't be modified when ordered. Of course, once the vehicle is purchased, one can do with it what one wants.

lol. No they definitely mean wrap as in the hoop is wrapped. Its a black matt vinyl wrap. Its easier to wrap the hood than set aside a line to paint hoods black.
