I agree my buddy asked me how come I didn't learn my lesson when I bought my Camaro. I have a Black Tundra as well and it is always dirty, my camaro doesn't get driven as much so it stays a bit cleaner but still see everything.

i've found that a good wax helps keep it cleaner. makes spot cleaning easier (just rinsing it off). but i've also got the luxury of letting it dry in the garage which helps. marilyn gets a nitty gritty wash job every 1-2wks or when a flock of birds decide to crap all over her the day after i spent 3hrs cleaning her :( i feel ya bro...but its worth it

Black car in Vegas is crazy. The sun is super strong here. Your car has to burn your hand if it sits in the sun. My light brown car burns my hand sitting outside. Between the strong sun, 110 degree temps all summer, hard water, no wonder you feel that way.
Black in general hides the body lines, is hard to see at night, shows every damn imperfection, gets super hot in the sun.......I never understood back cars.....but to each his/her own. But in Vegas......I don't get it.

Watch with car covers, if the dirt gets under them, with the winds out here, the cover turns into sandpaper moving on your paint.

My dealer offered my a new black SS he just got in over 3 years ago.
I turned him down and waited to order the delayed summit white.
One of the best decisions I ever made. Best looking imo and oh so easy to keep up.

I love black vehicles but after my last one I swore I would never get another one while I lived in town.

It's not the dirt that bothers me. It's how inconsiderate people are in most towns and black cars seem to be a magnet for all the a-holes out there that don't care about anything but themselves.

My previous vehicle was black and it was beautiful. Back in 2006 I moved to where I live now to be closer to work. Well within 2 weeks of living here I had the following show up:

2 door dings on the drivers door
1 door ding on the extended cab portion on the passenger's side
1 white paint scrape on the drivers side door
1 silver paint scrape on the drivers side fender lip.
1 ding on the tailgate that looked like someone took a small pipe and ran it into the tailgate.

That was all within 2 weeks of living in town. Before that, the truck was pristine and scratch free.

I will never have a black car or truck again while I live in an city/town. I'll wait until I can afford to move out back into the countryside again before getting another black vehicle.

I have a California Duster, but I can't get myself to use it on any other part of the car but the windshield/rear window. I've seen the videos about using light to almost no pressure but it still scares the crap out of me. The "dust" here is more like tiny rocks or sand. I won't touch my car unless it's with lots of soap and a wash mitt.

I think that is more about the a-holes that park next to you more than the color of the car. I had a red S10 blazer and one day when I came out of the grocery store I saw two scratches on my hood where it looked like someone layed something on it then slid it across the hood. Just saying a-Holes don't care what color your car is

Yea man its literally like using sandpaper on your car, trust me I have a Black one and my problem is not only the dust but the marine layer/fog. I wash it and I start seeing the thing layer of moisture on the car, which then turns into droplets . But ever since I got the car cover I was good to go

I've found that Finish Kare 425 Quick Detailer can cut down on the amount of dust that's attacted to car. Anti-static properties work decently in the lot at my work with big rigs driving back and forth over dirt and gravel roads near the lot.

I hear ya.. I have a car wash 4 minutes from my house that I go to almost every day. I know that sounds like bullshit but I'm serious. I think a black car is beautiful but it has to be clean.. I said I would never buy another black car when I bought my new 2010 Tahoe LTZ but the Camaros look to good in black so I said what the hell and bought a black one.

Well the heat doesn't bother me. I have a garage at home and at work so the car never really sits in the sun. It's the damn dust...yeah lesson learned

I had my black '96 Z28 for 15 years and I was so glad to finally be free of it. I used a California Duster almost daily on it. When i got rid of it, I still got compliments on how good it looked, but there's no way i'll ever own another one. My 2012 SS is Summit White, and it doesn't even need to be dusted off.

Having a Black car myself. I can sympathize with you man. But I mean look where you reside. It's bound to happen. Nice car though !

I originally wanted CGM but when i bought my car i wasnt available. So I took black over white, in the 10 months Ive owned the car Ive gotta have at least 10,000,000 swirl marks! And lately Ive been going out west to okeechobee, the bugs are like little jet planes kamakaziing my front end. I had to compound and wax some bug guts off the front last week. Then this friday wash dry and saturday all over again!!!! Do you think its Black or the quality of our paint/clearcoat????

You need to have a quality wax on the front end of your car to make the bugs not stick to the paint as easily. It doesn't eliminate the problem, but makes it more manageable. I have two black cars and they stay dusty. I still love the color and if I get another car it will be black....I've learned not to let swirrls bother me.

you can always wash the car cover at local cleaners. I've done it and it really gets the dirt/grease that the cover picks up from the tire/wheels off.
