Whats a good oil filter? Mobile 1?
I honestly wouldn't put a Fram oil filter on my lawn mower lol.
The best choice for a oil filter in your LSX engine would be
either a AC Delco or Mobil 1 oil filter they are both recommended by GM.
Also Mobil 1 full synthetic motor oil is endorsed and highly recommended by
GM engineering.

What K&N filter were you using? The truck one? HP1007 is the number for the car filter. The truck one is longer. People run the truck version so they can get an even 6qts in, IIRC.

I run K&N as it seems to keep the oil pressure where it needs to be, especially at high RPM.

Okay cool guess ill run mobile 1.. I wonder if thats why the fram is leaking? Oh and how tight do you guys put them on? When i took off the stock one i couldnt even do it, had to have my dad do it and he barely could get that sucker off too..

Yea i figured mobile 1 would be the best for that reason, but they didnt have any so we just grabbed the shortest one (fram) so we could get home.

oil filters should not be much more then hand tight, like 1/4 turn with a wrench past hand tight. and you need to put a little oil on the seal on the top of the filter to make sure it seals and the rubber doesnt deform.

Honestly everyone bad talks Fram filters but that's all I used for the first 7 years I owned my Camaro and I had no issues.

Sweet car dude! Keep up the good work!

I run AC Delco. Put some oil on top and turn it about 1/4 to 1/2 turn past hand tight and I'm good to go.

I'd go Strano. I have the BMR's and they have sagged some over the past three years.

I'm the same way with Mobil 1 filters, but I've also been there every time with the sticky filter; must be the Fram seal. My filters usually just need an assist from a filter wrench at worst..

X2 on the Stranos, they almost always get stellar reviews on ls1tech.

If you want a "look" and/or plan on going with Koni's -- Strano.

If you want a system that does more than looks cool, you need to plan your springs around the shocks/struts.

Ill look into ac delco or mobile 1.. I would run strano but i dont like how the front sits alot higher than than the rear. Oh and i dont like the price too

Got a microgaurd oil filter and 2 quarts of oil.. took off the fram and put it on (hand tight). Its still dripping oil, The part where the oil filter seals up does have a chip on it but the chip is on the side and im pretty sure the seal doesnt even go near it..Ill get some pics up soon.
So $30 more dollars and its still leaking
