Well, I picked it up today. Very nice. A little over 200 miles on it now and not even home yet. Bummer though, the Air Conditioner isn't working. I hope a local dealer will fix me up, I'd hate to drive 3 1/2 hours back there to get it fixed.

Wish me luck. By the way, this has the Gray stripe option. I will finally see what it looks like.

That is exactly what I want. Great looking color combo.

Thanks TONYFRED

I wasn't sure about the color. I thought I liked black, I have a black 67, black Cobalt SS, and a black Avalanche. I had in my mind picked Black, Ashen Gray, and Red to choose from. It wasn't until the Camaro Nationals in Frederick this year that I saw All of them in person, and the Red became my primary choice.
I searched the Chevrolet.com website locating some within 150 miles and this Red one showed up.
Now if Cyber Gray would have been available, that would have been another matter.

Actually, I saw the Gray and Black ones at Carlysle on Friday of that weekend. The Red one I fell in love with was at Frederick. I had a picture on a previous post titled "Black 5 spoke wheels"

Yeah, I guess in the Air conditioned service bay they didn't find that out. Oh well, I'll get it fixed locally. Talked to my original salesman and he said he understood and that his dealership would be glad to do my service work.

2012 now

Get the 2012. Same issue came up for me when the cut production. Could have been first for '13 but much happier to have it now, especially if you get for MRSP. Get it now and you will be happy you did

Are you currently experiencing with your a/c? Please let me know. Also, if you do, have you taken it to the dealership for diagnosis?

Brandon, I called my local dealer and told my salesman to remove my name from the wait list. Told him I bought one off the lot at another dealer. He told me that he understood and the dealership would support me for warranty service. I made an appointment for this coming Friday the 20th. I could have gotten in sooner but I can't get off work till Friday. I am not going to drop off the car, I am going to wait while it is being worked on. I don't know if they would, but I don't want to come to pick up the car and have 100 miles more on the odometer than when I dropped it off.
I will post after I get it worked on.

Glad you made the decision. I personally would have waited for the '13 if you were #1 on the list but good choice by getting it now.

I'm personally on the look for a '12 myself, if I can't get it no worries there is '13 and '14. I'll just set aside $ now and commit into saving up and doing it right.

I would have waited if the Dealer could have told me when it would be available. Their 12 just came in a week before the one I bought. They were fairly sure they are getting one but didn't know when they could order, I didn't want to wait till this time next year.

'13's are already being delivered, I don't think you would have to wait an entire year.

Brandon, I took it to the dealer on Friday. They found that the freon was low. Had .3# s when it should have had over 1#. It worked on the way home but it was cool and it had worked before in these conditions. I will let you know if I still have problems, Thanks

Tell them to find the leak next time instead of just adding freon. Plants have error proofing systems that put in the exact amount. It also won't pass the DVT end of line tests with any HVAC codes. If it's low, it leaked out.

Congrats on the new car!

They did tell me that the low freon was the problem. They said that they couldn't find a leak. There is dye in the factory freon and they couldn't find any residual dye anywhere. They added new dye to the new freon and we will keep an eye on any future A/C problems.

The tough to find leaks are often behind the dash, which takes tons of work to get to. "Couldn't find a leak anywhere" often means they waived the leak detector around the easy stuff under the hood. That checks about half the system.

That's pretty much the twin of my ZL1. You're gonna LOVE it!

I am sorry to hear of the a/c issues you may have experienced. Please let us know if this is a recurring issue!
