Detailer's Domain: VW GTI - Paint Correction and Opti Coat

Subject - 2010 VW GTI
Requirements - Full Exterior Paint Correction and Opti Coat installation.

We get another one ready for Waterfest.

Exterior

- Wheels were prepped with Sonax Wheel Cleaner and cleaned up with various brushes
- Tires were spritzed down with Adam’s All Purpose Cleaner and washed down
- Wheel wells were cleaned up
- Washed with 1Z einszett W99
- Wolf's Decon Gel
- Wash down and rinsed
- Door jambs were cleaned up
- Nano Scrub AutoScrub
- Dried
- Tires dressed
- Masking
- Paint Measurement
- Meg's M105 with Surbuf and Griots Orbital
- Sonax 5/5 Fine Abrasive Paste - Microfiber DA Cut Pad - Griots Orbital
- Sonax 3/6 Nano Polish - Uber Green Pad - Griots Orbital
- Opti Coat
- Inspection with Fenix, 3m Sun Gun, Infratech, and natural sunlight
- Wheel wells were cleaned and dressed
- Rubber and Plastics Treated
- Exterior windows and mirrors cleaned and sealed
- Exhaust tips cleaned
- Windows were autoscrubed, cleaned, and sealed

WOW super job on that paint

Did the owner use steel wool for a washmit? damn that paint was in hard shape.

Phil,

Awesome work! Looking at the timestamp of this post and your email back to me last night, do you ever sleep?!?!

Two questions . . . seeing your foam gun with the pressure washer makes me so jealous - what is your setup? I'm just using a straight garden hose with a Gilmour Foam Gun and seeing that foam makes me want to upgrade.

Other question - since you have hands-on experience with both Opti-Coat and Wolf's Body Wrap can you compare the pros and cons of both?
