13.07 LFX thanks to NYTREX TRIPLE THREAT system

OK,
So I keep getting asked how did I get my 2012 2LT RS to run in the 13.0s.
Here is the breakdown:
Stock 14.30 @ 98mph
GMPP mufflers $850.00 14.24@ 99.3MPH
CAI systems intake $325.00 14.16@ 100.26MPH
Trifecta tune ( group buy ) $325.00 14.05@ 101.21 ( no data logging done yet )
Nytrex Triple Threat system $850.00 13.07@ 107.67 ( need some tires and a posi unit to see it's full potential now )
I love what this system has done for my car. I still get 30mpg, easy as stock to drive and power only when I want it. Don't need premium fuel all the time. Didn't have to wait for weeks to get my car back. One hour of install time for one second+ of ET. Easy to remove to go back to dealer if need to, no cutting of wires for installation. I even mounted my bottle brackets on top of the spare tire cover with the insert that come in the kit. I just wanted to share my road to 13.0 and hope it helps someone else trying to enjoy life in the fast lane. It is not the fastest LFX out there but it is a hell of a fun ride for me. I hope you are enjoying your GEN5 as much I am mine.

Is it really that easy to do the install yourself? I would Love to do it myself but feel that one little mistakr could be catastrophic so i get a little scared lol.

Btw, what components do you have on your system? Purge, bottle heater?
Did you have to do any adjusting to the tune or something like that to run the nitrous safely?

The system IS that easy to install, comes with purge solenoid, with pressure gauge but no bottle heater. All you need is to fill the bottle when you get the kit and everything else is there. Every car out there can use a good tune to help run better. This system can be run on a stock engine without a tune. I have helped two other folks install the kit while at car meetups. If was fun watching the crowd look on as it was being done. Only the feed line had to be completed later. I did not want to crawl on the ground than get back into my camaro dirty.
Bottle heater, I am using an old Gerbrings electric vest for my heater. It has it's own battery, so I don't drain the car. Does it work as good as a heater made to warm the bottle NO but it does decent for 99.00 and it hides the bottle some too. Than I get to wear it also on cold nights too. I am looking to add a controller to my system in the future so I can use it right from the hit of the throttle without blowing away my tires.

Great run!!! Following your progress closely.
I started my install of the Ny-Trex system yesterday and should have it all done before week end.

Easy install but since I am doing it at my own shop I am taking it very slow!!

Thanks for your help with the questions!!!

What kind of fingerprints does the system leave if I were to pull it to go into the dealer?
Still a little nervous on voiding my warranty so soon.

The Ny-trex system leaves little to no fingerprint. There is no wire splicing necessary. A small slice through the steering column boot gets the two-wire harness through the firewall. It can be very small, as the rubber will open to accommodate the harness. The bottle mounting is the only place that drilling might be necessary. The reason I say “might” is because some have made a board or plate for the trunk area on which they have mounted the bottle. So, the fingerprint can be virtually eliminated!

I used the top section of the spare tire cover to mount my bottle brackets. It is very sturdy and does not show when the brackets are removed. This system is easy to install and remove without leaving anything that can be directly placed at the system. You will also find that NYTREX has great customer service. I'm waiting for a little cooler weather and some healing time from being in a friend's car accident.
Then off to the drag strip again, I'm thinking about adding a nitrous controller to my setup. Will keep everyone posted I want that 12 second ET.

Our bottle opener kit comes with a new CGA660 bottle nut to adapt the new solenoid. As long as others use the standard CGA660 thread- our kit will fit all brands.
I am not sure on how much it will cost to fill it in your location. From what I have heard over the phones it varies from state to state. Some people have told me that they pay under 4$ a pound for it.

YES!!!
Used it with a 50 shot at an 1/8 mile track a few weeks ago. Ran a Pontiac
G8 with the 6.0, headers, cat-back & tune.
Best run against the Pontiac was a 9.2 vs 9.1 for the G8. I think another 1/8 mile and I would have passed him!!

Glad you are happy with it. So when you going try the bigger jets? 75 / 100. Did you like the difference? Make sure keep bottle pressure around 950 - 1000psi makes a big difference. Feels good when the V8s see you by their side the whole time down the track.

I purchase a 58lb bottle thru my shop for 3.23lb and refill my own. The average around my part of Maryland is $5.25 per lb. Some of the shops close to the dragstrip charge $6.00+. The average bottle holds 10lbs.

Going to skip the 75 and go to the 100 and then 125.
Should be back at the track in a few weeks.
