JDP Halos Installed!

I finally received my JDP Halos yesterday and installed them today! They work great and the kit was put together very well! I love em! Took me about 6 hours total by myself. Thank you JDP!

Crap I love SGM haha. These lights look great on your car. I like your wheels as well, thinking of going with those when the time comes.

OK so i noticed that now when i turn off my HALOs there is still a faint green glow going to them........Not sure what this is and thought maybe someone else is experiencing this????? It does not matter what color they turn of on. I have to completely turn them off i.e. the wired switch in order for it to go away.

Does it happen in both battery and ignition switch positions?

That's weird. Try removing the panel with the kick panel, disconnect the JDP switch, and see if there's still a glow. If not, then there's a short in the switch.

Was one of the first batches back in December... Haven't had a single problem until this past weekend (Saturday 7/21 to be exact).

I noticed my Light changed to Red and the remote will not respond at all.... Will be buying a new Battery today as it could possibly be the battery is just dead finally. Hopefully it isn't what some other people have run into.

Mine did the same thing this weekend! Turned red and remote wouldn't respond. What I did was reprogram the remote and it fixed the issue.

Easiest way to reprogram remote:
Open hood
Open fuse box lid
Hold brightness up and down and power button for 15 seconds
Unplug the fuse plug that came with the kit (I unplugged the one closest to the front of the car) still holding down the 3 buttons
Wait 15 seconds plug fuse back in and keep holding buttons for another 15 seconds.

If you're experiencing the same thing I did this should fix it. Took me a few tries but I finally got it and works nicely now. Still lost a lot of range when the remote fell apart though. maybe JDP will have some remotes at camarofest and I can see if that helps my issue.

Mine will not respond if my car sits for a period of time. I replaced the battery when I first got it so its good. I reprogram mine by turning the inside switch to off, then pushing the light bright up/down together and hold them for about 20secs and while still holding them flip the switch to battery. You'll see the inside LED come on and continue to hold for 20secs and its programmed. Mine will work accordingly but let the car sit with the switch in the ignition position and they won't work when I come out in a day or two. I have to go through all this again which is a pain in the ass! I think the kit is a great idea but something is amiss and no one from JDP is addressing the issues and they've been mentioned on the thread and in PMs that I've sent. I like them but starting to think if I had to do it all over again would I? I just want my stuff right and right now!

This seems to have got it back on track. Didn't need new battery or anything just had to re-program the remote.

Good deal! Not sure what happens with that but it's not a difficult fix, thankfully.

Question

Have any of you guys had any trouble where the halos don't come on at all? I noticed yesterday that mine didn't come on when I unlocked my doors, however when I started the car they came on. It only seems to be intermittent.

Also when I press some of the function buttons on my remote they go off then eventually come back on. I tried reprogramming the remote but it didn't seem to work, not sure if I did it right but will try again. I'll also try changing the battery and see what happens.

Any help or ideas would be great. I emailed Jeremy also but figured I would post here as well.

Mine did that and I had another shop look mine over and discovered my switch inside the car on the kick panel had bad connections. I ended up removing it and recrimped all those (3) connections for the switch. In fact the center wire pulled straight out from the connector which at CFest I was told by Jeremy that their guy at the shop was not making good solid connections for them on the kits. That's since been taken care of and I was on the initial group buy. You might try checking those and recrimping them. I too was reprogramming my remote to get things to work but at Fest saw my kit was not doing what I saw kits at Fest doing so they gave me one of their new control modules and now my lights work perfect! I can change the colors while driving and even put the lights in the 'Flash or Fade' mode while driving if I want. None of this I could do prior to getting the latest control box. I'm happy now with the kit and no matter when I go to my car, it works solid in battery or ignition mode.

Thanks bro. I'll check those connections when I get home. I got my kit at the fest so I should have the same module as you. I can change up my modes/colors when I'm driving too.

Only thing I did different with my kit is that I tied one of the power wires to "feildgoals" DRL harness so that mine works as normal with parking lights as well as in Auto mode with the DRLs. Switch position 2 is connected as normal to constant battery power for show mode. I'll check those connections as well but it goes on and off in either mode so hope fully it is the center connection on the switch like you said.

Checked the switch and that is fine. Reprogrammed the remote about 20 times and still not working. Certain buttons I press it stops working. At least right now it stays on but it is stuck on red. Do I just need a new remote? I bought my kit at the fest so I should have the latest remote but I guess not.
