RMCR 1012 RWHP Vortech YSI 2011 SS

Thought I would put up the graphs from the last pulls we did with this car.

We built this car last year and the best we could get is 950 RWHP. Here is the graphs with the new heads and intake. Was hoping for more but as you can see with the dyno graph we are out of blower.

Mods:

427 LSX
TEA/ Trick flow 245cc Heads
Super Vic Jr Intake ported
NW 102 TB with Elbow
Vortech V-7 YSi with
Bell Intercooler
Snow Meth Kit
RMCR 3 pump fuel system with IC 1000 injectors
SW 2" Headers w/ 3" Exhaust
DSS 9"

Damn thats a little pulley. Is 18psi the max boost this setup is pushing? Very nice results.

Yes, We tried a few different sizes and made the same number. In the pic is a 26T. As you can see in the graph it plateaus off. 18lbs was the max boost we saw. Need more blower.

We have something in the works with Vortech that hopefully it will be 1200+ RWHP soon.

This is exactly what I ran into with the F1R I had as it was spinning max rpm at 18lbs as I had too much motor for the blower so I now have the F2 and it seems to be a greaat match

Great job on that monster you built, question on the carb intake vs and EFI intake, what advantages are you seeing between the two or have you tried the LS3 intake with that setup at all?

Not a carb intake as I run one very similar but the advantage is the longer individual runners and helps keep the cylinders from leaning out which on high hp builds is very common when using a FAST style intake.

Definitely out of blower somewhere around 5600-5700 RPM...but looks like a hell of a fun ride.

You're right, I meant to say carb style intake, basically it's adding volume over the traditional EFI intake?!?

Yes exactly, more volume and better distribution.

The carb style intake gives us better distribution. I have seen with the Fast and LS3 intake that it will feed the rear cylinders with more boost than the front. This is more of a problem when you are running higher boost numbers.

Makes complete sense, centri or turbo will push the air toward the back of the intake, whereas the carb style is forcing downward. Even if the power numbers were the same with both style of intakes the balance is much better with the carb style...I'm new to FI, I've always done N/A builds with all my other cars that I've had. Thanks for the info!

I spoke with vortech several weeks ago and they said this fall they would be offering a new head unit that would use existing Ysi bracketry and would be capable of much higher RWHP than the Ysi. They also said it would require new piping and intercooler.

Now this I like the sound of.... any more details ?

my YSi is in need of a rebuild, but an upgrade such as this would actually make it worthwhile doing ! Or a simple replacement
