BBK headers

Just installed BBK longtubes with high flows.. when I press on the gas regardless of what gear I'm in I can hear a distinct air sound.. can't figure out if its my intake or not? Never heard it before the headers.. I have full exhaust... checked for leaked when installed them but can't figure it out.. all the bolts were tightened and still the sound.. my headers are silver polished ceramic coated..

It could be the distinct sound you get from headers. I've heard it described as a tinny sound. Could just be the sound of the air rushing through the tubes, or could also be the sound of the air getting sucked into the intake.

Matt lets meet up this weekend and ill check it out. If you checked for leaks then its probably just the normal sound of headers. A leak will be a popping/ticking noise that sounds like a collapsed lifter. Cruise by my house if you want. Ill be around till 5pm and im free all day tomorrow.

Don't forget headers are going to be able to move more air. That is their purpose, to get the exhaust out of the engine, so it may just be a natural sound. Good luck.

Yeah, to me, the header sound just sounds like air rushing through tubes. I guess this makes sense, since that's exactly what it's doing I find this a lot more noticeable at idle. Once The RPMs go up, all I hear is the growl of the engine

i have bbk long tubes headers with hi flow cats and notice a air sound, no leaks, what you are probably experiencing is just more air going through which is going to make a different sound compared to stock.
