probably sounds stupid but id like to ask anyways

what exactly does a "catch can" do?

After taking off my intake manifold yesterday I can assure you that a catch can should be your very first modification on your car. I regret not doing it (SOON!!!) after I clean my intake manifold completely and clean out the air box.

But technically it stops any flow of oil into your intake manifold and plenum (right? haha)
