Street Slayer Triple Rocks

My car is at 620 RWHP to the ground on a hot day. I obviously needed to make a move in the clutch department. I made the mistake of putting in a ZR-1 Clutch from Lingenfelter. DON'T DO IT. This setup has been destroying slave cylinders left and right. At a first rate Camaro speed shop here in the DFW area they have sold and installed more than 15 of these clutches. The slave cylinder casualty count? .... more than 30 destroyed slave cylinders. There is an engineering problem with this system. The worst part is Lingenfeler does not stand behind it one iota. In fact I couldn't even get them to return a call or an e-mail. I know Lingenfelter makes some quality stuff, but you can count me out. Customer service is part of what I pay for if I am laying out $1500 of my hard earned money for a clutch.
After a lot of research and fact finding, including good customer relations, I went to Hendrix Engineering for a Street Slayer Triple carbon clutch. This clutch "CLAMPS" ... good for something like 1500 ft/lbs of torque. Once I got used to the high pedal, short friction start I was in love. This clutch is completely rebuild-able to boot.
If you ever intend to make more horsepower than the stock clutch can handle, or if you ever intend to race your Gen5, don't fool around. Learn the easy way from guys like me that learned the hard way. Avoid Lingenfelter and go straight to the real thing ... Hendrix Engineering Street Slayer Twin or Triple Carbon and don't look back.

What's the cost of the clutch? Does it come with a fly wheel?

Sorry to hear about your misfortune. It's so disappointing wanting to upgrade your car with components from these big names in the business only to find out that they aren't as "plug and play" as they advertise them to be. It's soooooo frustrating to spend so much of your hard earned money only to have to spend more and more just to "make it right". Happy Hendrix was able to make it right for you though.

The clutch is $3295. It has everything you need except a slave cylinder. If you haven't blown-up your slave cylinder yet, I believe you can use the stock cylinder. It may not be a bad idea to put a new slave in while you have it apart. The slave cylinder is about $180 ... It is probably the only clutch you will ever need to buy.

It was more like misinformation than misfortune. The disappointing part of it all, besides the loss of $1500, was to be totally blown off by Lingenfelter. They made no attempt to make things right. They didn't even return a call. No appology ... no consideration ... no common courtesy. They just took my money "too bad, so sad". There is nothing I can do about it except to steer my Camaro enthusiast brothers and sisters away from the evil empire.

THANKS GUYS!!! Glad you love it....Its not that the pedal is high,it has a shorter stroke ,you dont have to go to the floor so it apears high..We may do a stop just to shorten the range.

Did you end up replacing it with a stock slave cylinder? If not.... what brand did you use? Thanks.

I'm going to be replacing my clutch set up soon.
What slave is used?
New fly wheel?
Private message me.
Considering either double or triple disc but not enough info on your website.
Thanks

I have had the twin carbon Street Slayer for a couple months now and have zero complaints. I didn't realize how much the stock clutch was slipping until I had this put in, and wow what a difference. No power loss anymore

The reason we did not stand behind the ZR1 clutch and slave was because it was not purchased from us, I explained this in an email that I sent to you. The flywheel was purchased from us to adapt a stock ZR1 clutch and slave cylinder to your 5th gen Camaro.

I returned the initial email within 24 hours and to my knowledge there was never a phone call into the shop nor a phone number given just an email signed with a screen name.

Just plain and simple the Street Slayer is a way better clutch .. There is really no comparision with the ZR1 clutch..
