Per NHRA safety rules 11.49 to 10.00 a SFI 32A-1 jacket is required. 9.99 and quicker -5 jacket and pants are required. Helmets Snell rated M or SA 2005 or newer is required for vehicles running 13.99 and quicker. long pants are all you need. Shorts are prohibited at any time.

You guys will not be running in stock Eliminator SFI pants are required only at NHRA Divisional and National events when you run in the stock class otherwise till 10.00 flat pants are fine. Make sure you wear pants because shorts are prohibited. The rules posted in the 1st post of this thread are from the stock eliminator class specific part of the NHRA rule book not General Regulations. 11.49 or quicker the jacket is required.

Allright, I'm a tad confused... was reading about helmet requirements for drags, with track following NHRA rules, re: helmets. This is posted at top of the thread:

Quote:
Effective Jan. 1, 2008, full face helmet mandatory on all cars 9.99 or quicker. See Individual Class Requirements for additional requirements. Shield mandatory 7.49 & quicker.
E.T. cars (13.99 or quicker) must use a helmet meeting Snell 2005, 2007 or SFI 31.1A, 31.2A, 31.1/2005, 41.1A, 41.2A or 41.1/2005 Specs. Drivers in supercharged, front-engine, open-bodied cars and Funny Cars must wear a helmet meeting Snell SA2005 or SFI 31.1A, 31.2A, or 31.1/2005 Specs. See Class Requirements.
So if I am reading that right, cars slower than 13.99 wouldn't need a helmet per NHRA rules, but 'Fest drivers will have to have helmet anyway?

It's really an insurance thing. We were able to save a lot if we required everyone in all driving events to wear a helmet. Helps us keep the price down.

Quick question about auto x. When do we find out what number we will run for auto x? Or do we run numbers?

Charley, I assume you want to run your Big Dale Earnhart #3 on the doors at the fest?

I'll reserve it for you at the autoX... just show up with it already on the doors and it's yours.

Classes

Stock -- That means Stock. No CAI, wheel, tire, engine, brake, suspension, exhaust modifications or tunes.
So even an axle-back will throw you out of the stock class?

For the Autox that is correct.

We don't have a stock drag racing class so you'd have to run in either the Bracket racing or the NA class.

Can y'all verify the jacket requirement for adding a Maggie Blower? I see 10.00 and slower, non-OEM superchargers...

If so, any for sale at the fest?

The way the rule has been applied in the past is if the blower is aftermarket you have to have a jacket.

NO JACKET REQUIRED for 11.5 and above

You do NOT need a jacket unless you run 11.49 or faster. At this point they will check for roll cage and other stuff also.

There are tracks, like Firebird last year, that make you have jackets for Force Inducted cars, but not this one.
