First Camaro!

Hello all. This is my first post but I have been checking out the boards for months now.

Well basically I am looking to get rid of my current car because of a few things. 1 the thing is way to darn small, 2 I hate it, and 3 I got really screwed over on it last year.

So I am starting to look around at my options and I am really leaning toward a 2013 2LS. I would love to go for a SS but that is out of my price range for now. I currently do work a full-time job and am a full-time student with the crap luck of paying $350 for a RIO! So I could easily afford another $100 or so.

Now I have gotten a lot out of Camaro5 so I am better aware so that I won't get screwed over again, but could still use some help. For a basic 2LS, what should I be looking to spend with a good deal? Are they still giving out the private offers? I have attempted the last few days to get one to pop up and no luck on that.

I live in Northeast Ohio, and yes this will be my DD. I plan on getting a set of snow tires before the end of fall. I plan to at least put down $1000 + the private offer if they still do em.

Any help, I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks everyone!

It really depends on your local dealers. Contact Becky and see what she can do for you.

And yes, private offers are still popping up...just don't appear to be as frequently.

Well to give an idea, there is an ok dealer I've been looking (pat o brien) but not really any other choices. I have a dealer right by my house that has a 2ls at 28k??

I might try and do that. Because I wouldn't mind a few hour drive for a good deal.

Well I guess back to trying to get one to come up!

If your not hung up on getting a 2013 you may be able to get a very good deal on a new 2011. Dealers in my area have several still on lots. I picked up a 11SS Vert with about 500 miles for over 20% off of $41k sticker. It is still new with full warranty and also got zero interest for 60 months. Purchased on last day of month and dealer wanted car gone. Don't hesitate to make an offer on a 2011 as dealers likely have already had to pay down the cost due to time on lot.

Wow, you can still find new 2011's? Interesting. I'm wanting to trade up to a 1SS/2SS RS, I may have to see if there are any around here.

OP - Just from my own buying experience price out the RS package when looking around. I purchased the 1LT model and just for a few pennies more I could have upgraded to the RS (my sales person never tried to upsell me and I didn't know what it included). Now I wish I had the halos, nicer rims, etc.. well worth the slight price increase at the time of sale if its in your budget.

Good luck!

If you really want a 13 I'd also recommend contacting Becky@ Rodgers Chevrolet, she's awesome. I make it a habit of going onto Kbb.com and NADA.com and price out what I want. It will also give you an idea what you ahould be able to get one for. The other plus side that I like, and I'm assuming you will to, is you build your own acoording to what you can afford. Play around with the options and models with noone trying to talk you into anything you can't afford. Once I price it out I go onto a ammortization chart, which is really made for mortgages, and figure out how much I can borrow to not go over the payment I want. It sounds like alot of work but I don't like surprises, and I don't ever want that look like OMG on my face when the dealer says how much. I don't know about you but I always come out on the wrong side of ASSUME. So I want to know all I can before I walk in the door.

If I could afford and lt I would get the rs no question! But I know as of now a 2ls is right in my price range.

Oh yeah, I've done the editor pretty often. And I haven't seen new 11's but one dealer has a 2lt new from 10' for like 21k but it's red. Not really into the red on a camaro.
