Damn, just can't get Smoke running right. He hits about 5k rpm and it falls flat on its face. 99 mph is all we can get out of it. He's launching better than most, but gets over powered having to shift early.

IPF is running strong. 13.5 on this last run. Like so many, he's bogging at launch. Lot's of 2.3+ 60 fts. Once IPF gets their launch down they might hit 12s.

Just to let you know, a lot of SSs with headers are running high 13s low 14s. Nitrous guys are tearing it up though. With the way HDRS can launch he is going to embarras some people.

Ha! At this point he doesn't need them unless he wants to put a hurt on some supercharged SSs. I didn't see it, but heard he ran IPF and won easily. They are hot lapping their car so I don't expect to see better times from them until tomorrow.

I will see if I can find Rich and get the details.

Sounds like it's the exact same problem I was running into. It feels pretty sorry on the top end and I could only trap 98-100 mph. However I'm not running meth, so I do not understand why the meth isn't helping at all. Because you turbo guys can run faster with the aid of meth. In my mind one of two things is happening. Either the tune isn't figured out, which I wouldn't be surprised since Smoke basically got his car and head for the fest. OR the 4" MAF pipe is causing some issues. What size MAF pipe are you running in your car Gretchen?

What started as an update on Gretchen's progress with the new turbos has morphed into our C5Fest minute by minute play for FI'd V6s lol.

Is IPF running street tires or drags/slicks?

Sounds like running mid/low 13s whereas some modified SS's are running high 13s is pretty good in my book. Is that about what most stock or slighly modified SS' are running (because of the DA) or are those just examples of the bad runs?

HDRS was having issues, too. We think the ecu had not relearned for the higher octane he is running. Seems to be getting faster each run. Last one was 12.3 at 113.

Diane Oakley made her first passes ever and got .5 better eachtime.

Times are generally bad across the board. The only exception seems to be the juicers. For example, a good n/a v6 time is low to mid 15s.

Looked to me like the IPF car had nt05s.

Track is sticky and people keep bogging the launch. I think times will be better tomorrow if they just launch hard.

I talked with Rich for a bit, sez he's having a great time with you guys.

He hates typing more than me. lol

He feels good about his car now after a few runs under the belt. Said his last 60' was in the 1.6xx area.

The skinnies come out tommorow so we may see his best run yet. I really miss being there but we all know how that goes.

So I finally got to listen to the cruze video with Derrick and Smoke driving by.

That high pitched squeal from gretchen was something i was not expecting!! lol. It gave me a good chuckle I have to admit...but otherwise you can tell the car sounds badass.

As for smokes car...it just plain sounds bad ass.
