Zl1 Grille Install

Can someone give me some instructions for a ZL1 grille install. I have a 2012 V6 and want to install. Any help or links would be very appreciated!

Its easy...the easiest way for.me is put car on jack stands..take off wheels remove the star screws that on in the wheel well and the to clips holding the liner in..pull it put and behimd the rotor. There are 3 bolts facing towards the front of the car those are 10mm and then on the side theres another 10mm bolt to remove..and then in the same spot there is a small 6 or 7mm bolt facing upwards..rempve all them and so the same on the other side..there r two 10mm bolts on the bottom of tje bumper and two on top that r at each corner of the bumper..remove the push clips from top of bump...now either u can go on the passenger side and disconnect the lights..its just a plug..or if ur working with someone..u can pull the bumper off and unclip that plug then...after tjat pull bumper off...lay it down where it wont get scratched..unclip the old grill..i had to use a small flat head screw driver. To get unclipped..pull out grill replace it..and do all that in reverse..

The procedure is the same as the Heritage grille, good luck, and post pics when done!

Jeff and I will be installing mines soon once it gets here. I just tracked it from Patrick @ GM parts. It's showing an address that's a strip club. Apparently the driver decided to make a quick stop. But seriously I'm awaiting mines any day now.

I want to install the ZL1 grill on my SS as well, how does the grill come? Does it have the bow tie and ZL1 indentation in the grill like it looks on the ZL1? Hope not I'd like to put the larger modern "SS"' emblems on it, doe's GM sell those too?

I saw a camaro with one already (not a ZL1) but didn't notice the bow tie and ZL1 indentations in it unless I'm going blind or it was modified, just have to try to get in contact with that member, he did say he bought it from GM..
Has anyone else done this?

Yes, you are right I just saw the pic, so guess that's bad news for me...I'M blind! Lol
He just has the "SS" emblems over the ZL1 indentation, looks really good too, but I'd like to ditch the bow tie for the bigger modern style "SS" emblems, but 1st I'd have to get a idea how it would look.

On the ZL1 grilles is the ZL1 logo removable? Mines just an SS and I don't want to take anything away from those with a real ZL1

No, Just take the red SS from your old grill and tape it over the ZL1. It will fit perfectly.

The "ZL1" is indented into the plastic with the holes for the ZL1 emblems. the SS emblem from your grille will fit over it with two new holes drilled. be carefull if you take your emblem of they break easily where the two s's touch

There isn't a problem using your existing bowtie on the ZL1 grille right?

I may have found my answer. it looks like you have to remove the bottom tab for it to fit on the ZL1 grille.

Take a look: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=215026
