(IMHO) The price is honestly an issue. Slightly under SS range for bottom spec 3.8L. Just isnt my cup of soup. One thing I have learned from this forum is NA v6 does not a V8 make.

EDIT: I will say, and I think the Kia Optima, is doing this too: A 274 hp TC'd 4 cyl isnt too shabby either.

When I got my 1SS/RS I crossed shopped against the 3.8 Genesis fully loaded and 2LT/RS

To me I just felt like the v8 was worth it over having the cars come fully loaded and leather etc. I like the cloth interior better honestly.

Good for you. That's hilarious. I'm a V6er and I know better than to rice a an SS, SRT or 5.0. Heck I stay away from Neon SRT4's, WRX's and EVO's. Maybe after the SC, I'll feel a little more ambitious. For now I'll stick with pwning older GT Mustangs.

The Hyundai would beat the LFX. But the Camaro looks much nicer, all day long.

Camaro V6's are slower then I thought.... I raced a base manual on the autobahn last summer and my back bumper was at his front bumper by 60..... They are about as fast as vq35de Nissan 350Z though, maybe a bit faster on the top end.

Little quicker, those DEs, than the 10-11 LLTs stock for stock. Lighter for sure. Cheers.

Dude there are a couple of those coupes where I live, one yellow and red and trust me the freaking look like Ferraris and way hotter than our Camaros, BBS CH wheels installed an all.

Yeah, the LLT auto feels significantly slower then the LLT manual too.... I'm sure the manual dyno's a few ponies more then the auto due to it's parasthetic drivetrain loss from the hydraulic fluids in the auto and gearing though.

You think the Genesis Coupe is "way hotter than our Camaros?" That's very interesting to say the least.
And the Genesis looks like a Ferarri?

Well I actually considered getting the 2013 Genesis for about 5min. Went to the dealer got in it drove it and there's no way you can compare cars. The Camaro feels tougher and meaner. And the Genesis was 31000, I got my 45th Anniversary 2LT RS brand spanking new for less. I would love the Brembos but like I said the genesis feels less than the Camaro. Those are my 2 cents

I've learned to stop comparing cars by the "feel" of them.

I recently took a ride in my Buddies EVO VIII MR (Exhaust, Intake, Cam, Tune, and supporting mods like injectors, larger fuel pump etc)

I rode in, and then drove his car. and it felt UnGodly fast. I just knew my Car would be destroyed.. Then I learned through some "testing" that wasn't the case, we were pretty evenly matched.

Agreed. The 4th gen SS seems to "feel" faster than the 5th, but really that is not the case.

The 5th gen with its nice ride and long hood view doesn't make it seem as fast from inside the cabin as with some other cars

The new genesis is a little improved from the b*tt-ugly previous version in the looks department. That doesn't mean it looks good.

Take my word, there is an expiry date on the bum of each Hyundai and it is way earlier than a legend like the Camaro!

are you guys sure you know how to race? both my friends have 2006 350z(intake+catback) and a 2012 3.8 genesis , and i took them both, this was done best out of 3 for each car. I have a 2012 2lt/rs just intake and exhaust. the throttle response on the paddle shifter's is amazing

Saw this insert in the latest issue of Car & Driver... Hyundai Genesis 3.8 is sparring directly at the V6 Camaro.

Then get the R-spec, 29k for the V6, or 26500 for the 2.0T which should fall between the Camaro and the 3.8 R-spec in performance. Keep in mind you would need at least 1LT with the RS package and with no other options that is 28300.

Also priced this out, 3.8 track which comes loaded including navigation and sunroof, is 33875, he closest Camaro is the 2LT with RS, SUNROOF, and Nav and it is 32655, a whopping 1200 dollar difference and the Genesis is quicker in every way.
