I was sent 2 left tires.....who's fault? Advice?

I've been back for 3 hrs now. I drove in the States to a UPS store just across the border. I bought a set of door panels with orange stitching & an SS steering wheel with orange stitching from GM Parts House. These are OK. I snagged a set of rear ZL1 Eagle F1 Supercar G2 305/35ZR20's. Incredible deal!!! I got a set of take off's for the front Eagle F1 Asymmetric's 265/40/20 (very low miles taken off an A8 so all season's could be installed). I get home and I'm showing the rears to my wife and it turns out both tires are for the left side. Not to hard to see once one starts to read everything written on the sidewall. Now, before I bought them I asked if there was a left & right tire. First I was told by the person she didn't know about tires. I replied that I know they are side specific, could someone find out for sure. I'm then told she has sold two of the same tire to other people and there hasn't been a problem, so her guess is "we should be OK".

I just realized I misunderstood what she was trying to say (I am thick).

So as soon as I realize we have a BIG problem I send an email off and I get a call 2 mins later. First I'm told she doesn't appreciate me say ________ has a big problem. Well, I wasn't the one who sent out 2 of the same tires . Now I will be getting the correct tire for my Camaro, I just have to be patient and wait. OK that's the story. Now, given what I just said, here's where I'd appreciate some advice. I have a 5 1/2hr drive to the UPS store and back. I'm looking at $35-$38 for gas. I'll use my work/winter car but that's still miles being added. Should I push for some sort of compensation for my time and gas to essentially fix their mistake? Or just drive to pick up my tire and take it like a spineless b***h? I think you can get a feel for how I'm leaning

My best advice for you is to move out of Canada, LOL.

About the tires... that sucks.

Exactly, just count your lucky stars your getting sent the right tire. Your just going to have to eat that $40 for gas, no point in fighting it as nothing will come from it.

Let me correct that for you.

Now the question! What is a normal person? Sometimes I wonder.....

Yeah, I don't understand why they can't ship it to you? I would be happy that they are WILLING to correct the mistake and trade you for the correct tire. Lesson learned and for the record I have driven more than that to pick up something I wanted.
.
At least you caught the error now and not at the tire shop getting them mounted ....

Thanks for the replies guys. It just came to me last night lying in bed....they are going to make this right (at least that's what I've gotten from our conversation), and they are going to be shipped to the UPS Store again for free. I'm sure they would ship the correct tire to me across the border, but as soon as ANYTHING crosses the border, BOOM big shipping charges! It would be at least $75-$100 for the tire, plus the Bulls**t rape charges from Fedex/UPS. I guess I'm upset because I have to go out of my way to correct THEIR mistake even though in our pre buy conversation I broached this subject twice so I wouldn't have to go through this !!!!

And I can't believe a few of you are surprised that they are going to make it right??? Or that I should be thankful they are going to make it right. I bought 2 rear tires (because 305/35 tires won't ever fit on the front, right?), so shouldn't I get what I paid for? Not 2 of the same tire so I have to mount one of them backwards. Forget the fact I'm not impressed with having to make the 5 1/2hr round trip again, but is their any question they NEED to make sure I have 1 tire for the left and 1 tire for the right?

If this takes a couple of weeks, maybe I can buy something else to make my trip worthwhile.
