Great, thank you for the write up and pictures, this was much easier to access than under the steering wheel. I installed red LEDs in my 2LTRS and pink LEDs in my wife's 2LT.

Thanks for this info, I'm doing mine tomorrow. However I'm afraid of cutting such a small wire with connectors. So instead I think I'll peel away the plastic on the wire about a half inch and just wrap the other wire around it. Then wrap electrical tape around it all. Anyone think this is a bad idea? Thanks again.

Merry Christmas!
![]() Today is the day I'm installing both the front and rear seat footwell lights in my friend's Camaro for Christmas. I will wire them up to a single pole, double throw switch. That way she can choose to have them come on when the dome light comes on, turn them off completely or have them come on when the car starts. I've got the full afternoon to do it so hopefully I can get it done before nightfall. I'm in Florida so it's a nice day out. I'll take pictures. Wish me luck!

Well I did not have time to do everything, but I got the front footwell lights hooked up to the dome light and changed the dome light and trunk lights.
I have to say I'm pretty upset at how little the lights show. I just went out in the dark now and you can hardly see there is any lights in the footwells. The dome light does not shine very bright either. Maybe it's because it's a black interior and I use purple lights. I thought there would be a nice purple glow to it but that is not the case at all. I'd never have done it if I knew it would look like this.

I'm assuming it's the same, but has anyone used this connection on a 2013 (I have a RS 2LT Vert)? Just curious before I pull the kick panel to see if the gray wire exists on my setup . . . Thanks.

Rear Footwell lighting
I finally got my rear footwell lighting installed this weekend. I ran the wire up from the dash, down the side of the console and then under the carpet (used a fish tape) to appear under each seat through the cuts for the power seats. I then attached the led strips I got (flex with tape on the back) to very small square wooden dowels I picked up from lowes for rigidity. I was able to slide them in slits made in the fabric of the underside of the backs of the front seats (if that makes sense). Zip-Tied them up and zip tied them to the dowels in case the glue doesn't keep them attached. Left a little slack on the wire for seat movement, tested and works GREAT!!! See install pics below.
