McLeod RXT Install

I am in the process of installing my new McLeod RXT twin disk, installation was pretty straight forward, did it in my garage, I just have some buttoning up to do. I only needed about 18" of clearence to get this done, I also installed my tick speed bleeder while I was at it. Once I get my intercooler some time this week, I will give a reveiw of this clutch. I have a little write up if someone is interested in doing this, approx 7 - 8 hours on your back. I will have pictures loaded on photobucket within a day or so showing the work

Good choice! I love my RXT. Cant wait to get the new motor in at 800+rwhp to see how well it holds up. Once i go thru the RXT i may go with the RPS triple.

For the most part, 15mm, 13mm, and 10mm, swivels for the 15mm and about 3ft of 3/8 extension should do the trick. The top bellhousing bolt was a pia on my back, but just lower the back end of the tranny and you should be able to see it pretty good. When I re-installed that top bolt, I used a 2ft set of mechnical fingers to get it started then racheted it once it was started.

A really long extension maybe 3 ft to get the top bolt on the bell housing. I had my shop install the GForce 9" and RXT at the same time but they usually put me to work when Im there and this was the only tool out of the ordinary i can remember. Oh, and a lift is nice!

After getting the front end of my car back together this weekend, I was able to put a few miles on the new clutch set up. All I have to say is pedal pressure is equal to or slight less than stock, it grabs in the middle to high range of the pedal and very smooth engagement, does not feel like a twin is there at all, very streetable! Once I have a few hundred miles on it I will test the higher rpm shifts. McLeod recommends 1700 pedal cycles in order to properly break in the RXT big thumbs up to this clutch

I have had the RXT for a year now and it has chattered really bad since the day I got it...Its awesome at high RPMs and at the drag strip etc, but for cruising around town, its terrible...and when it gets hot, it gets gummy and the pedal feel changes. Its hard to drive the car smoothly. With that said, when I have to replace the clutch...I will put the RXT in again...because I am a drag racer and sometimes you have to make other sacrifices for victories

Wow, thats strange so far I have not had any problems with the clutch chattering at all to this point, but I am also still in the break in period and with zero pedal differences, once I have the break in done I will do some hard runs and see if there is a difference, any difference with the upper rpm shifts with this clutch??

Just out of curiosity, did you change the slave cylinder? If so.... what brand did you go with? Also, keep us posted about the " higher rpm shifts"..... when it's ready.

I re-used the stock slave, the car has only 4600 miles on it and there was no evidence of the slave loosing pressure or leaking, dry in the bellhousing and all around the slave it was dry too. Within a week or so I should have enough break in time.

I had the exact same issues with my RXT. I decided my car was too nice to have a clutch that chattered, so I ordered the Street Slayer twin carbon. I installed it a couple of nights ago and my first impression is, it's awesome. The pedal effort is definitely more than the RXT, but there is absolutely no chatter. I haven't been hard on it yet, but I expect it will do great.
