2011 Camaro SS vs 2006 Mustang GT

My nephew got a 2006 Mustang GT and he's already started trash talking. This question has probably already, but who would win in the 1/4 mile.

He's stock(manual) and my mods are below(L99).

you can stall and take off in third and still eat it i had too but my friend has an 06 gt and we switched cars. when he came out of the cars he said "i honestly thought that when i bought this car i would stand a chance". so that will answer your question. haha

I'm glad Ford stepped up and put a proper engine in the mustang. Up unitl recently I knew almost nothing about engine specks and performance from pony cars. I live in a small town and there are a few 09 and younger stangs running around that I used to think would be pure nastiness on a track (stock of course). It also makes chevy want to improve their own engines to keep up. Don't want to turn this into another ford vs. chevy thread but glad I went with the camaro....with the exception that a 2013 GT had a lot of nice electronic gadgets (if you opt to add them to the standard GT package that is).

If he knows how to drive, he might be able to cut a better 60 ft. than you. He has no chance after that though. You will beat him in the 1/8 mile and continue to pull away from him all the way up to the 1/4 mile.

I have seen PLENTY of 05-09 Mustang GT's run! In stock form, with typical driver they are really more like a low 14 second car.... especially if you are talking street tires and a test and tune day.

i raced one with a k.b supercharger and bolt ons and mine just tune and exhaust and intake and where were super close. so u should kill one unless modded

yeah...nothing wrong with sportbikes except most of the riders. ive ridden and road raced bikes for years...i see plenty of squids, i guess it depends on what hes like...if he is squidly, perhaps he's better off in a car.

very true since i left cali to come back home to ohio its gotten so bad. Everyone i see cant ride at all and only care about the straights. Its pathetic, when i ask where the good twisties are and they ask me why i would go there

Nothing wrong withem but if I'm going fast I just prefer seatbelts and air bags. Plus he already totaled one.

Is the GT stock? I could easily take my brother (2010 SS 6m) when he was stock, my car had bolt ons when we ran. He now has intake/tune/exhst and it's harder to beat him, i barely pull away from him now.

Is your Saleen based on the N/A 4.6 or is is an SC? Not seeing how a bolt on N/A 4.6 is whooping up on a bolt on SS M6.

my rooommate has an 05 mustang gt (cammed) and im in a slightly modded v6. From a 60mph roll, i lost by about 3.5 car lengths. i feel an ss would be all set. I even believe with a few bolt ons and the turbo im looking out, hes gunna be pissed to say the least.

Driver mod, intake, hpipe, custom tune, 3.73 gears, udp, 555r Nittos, McLeod twin disk Clutch, dead hooks and weighs a few hundred pounds less. I ran a 13.2 and a 1.82 60ft with the stock clutch, no tune and street tires, so i should be in the high 12's as it sits right now pre-turbo. There were 2 other SS Camaros at the track that day, the best run was a 13.5, he had an intake/tune(not my brother). I can barely pull away from him now, pretty much even. If the GT has similar bolt ons, he'll be close, but you should be able to beat him.

You got him. When I had my 05 auto it had a little better tires with a tune, CAI, TB and Offroad H and the best time I could get was a 13.2x . So more than likely you will get him if he's stock, but anything can happen at the strip.

Yeah you're gonna kick that 3 valve in the dick. Not even a contest. Tell him to get a intake, exhaust, tune, headers, cam, some head work and then maybe he will stand a chance.

I have a LLT (V6) M6, a few tasteful mods IMO! That would be a challenge for him! but not the SS Camaro. too easy!

I told him we need to hurry up and race(track of course) before I install the heads and cam.
