No 85lb injectors would not use more fuel than the stock ones. I put 72lb injectors on because I am going to put a turbo on but that was a year ago and I have been using the 72lb injectors ever since. You just have to change your IFR(injector flow rate). You ECM will pulse the larger injectors less that's all. My injectors were at 85% IDC(injector duty cycle) at WOT and now they are at 33% so I don't use any more fuel.

At idle and part throttle driving your O2 sensor tries to always have a 14.7 A/F(air/fuel) regardless of the size of your injectors.

The larger injectors are just capable of delivering more fuel as you said. A lot of people think you can add bigger injectors and make more power. But, unless you are running out of fuel that will not happen because injectors are not power adders.

Fuel injectors don't make more power they just support more power.

Drop exhaust, drive shaft, heat shields, remove park brake cables. Remove front 2 cradle bolts & loosen rear 2 bolts & swing everything down. Gas tank will slide right out then. The whole install will take about 6 - 6 1/2 hours with wiring & mods.

Thanks
Not sure who that would be as there are only a few units out and the ones I know of have worked perfectly including mine.

I wonder if you guys would benefit from cutting a hole in the floor above the pump.... thats what the G8 guys are doing and it works out great... cut a hole and remove pump from under back seat.... works awesome in a G8... wonder how it would do in a camaro.... plus if it ever goes bad... no need to work a bunch of time on it... now it only takes me 15 minutes to get it out.... I wonder....

I wouldnt go above the hard coded limit on the injectors.. (64?).... otherwise adjusting all the tables, including the trans tables, is a pain in the butt... (or time comsuming..)

+1 but alot of people are extremely picky about doing any mods like this but is definitely the easiest way of changing a pump and will never be noticed.

I never thought of cutting a hole. It would be one way of going about it.

From the pictures I have seen, the "bucket" has been removed.
This WILL result in fuel starvation when the level in the tank is low, due to the fact that the fuel will move away from the pump pick ups during cornering.
The function of the bucket is to provide a constant supply to the pumps under all conditions.

Well the first step regarding fuel delivery was taken today. i ordered the JRE edelbrok fuel rails upgrade. I'm going to hold off on the 85lb injectors and LPE pump until the stroker build and cam swap

That may work with just a stock pump replacement. But with the twin pump kit you also replace the secondary module & transfer tube, along with a little rewiring of the two modules. Tank will have to be removed to do a complete install.

I'm going with E85 and should be making around 1000rwhp with a blower so I need a ton of fuel. I went with an Aeromotive Stealth fuel pump set up but they made it with a Pro series pump instead of an A1000 or Eliminator. -10 feed and -8 return lines, billet rails, and 2000cc injectors round it out.

I don't think anyone plans on getting good gas mileage when making this kind of power.

It sounds harsh, but if done properly it is a viable and valid solution. This is what we do with NicKey Super Camaro builds.
