need some quick advice (caliper piston)

changing the pads on my v6, having alot of trouble getting the piston to retreact into the caliper, do i need a special tool or anything or should some c clamps do it. did a quick search online and found some brake caliper pistons rotate as they extend... requiring special tool...is this the case on this system? Thanks for your help guys

I've only ever cracked the bleeder and then pushed the piston in. Then do a brake bleed.

First make sure your bleeder is open.

If it is then pull the other side, if it's easy to retract then the first caliper might need to be rebuilt or replaced.

You don't need to crack the bleeder to do this. Just use a c-clamp like you said and the old brake pad against the piston so you push it back evenly. You only need to take the cap off the master brake cylinder as the fluid comes back into when you compress the piston back.

The Camaro brakes don't spin out like you mention.

Thanks for your comments everyone, I ended up getting a new c-clamp that wasn't a p.o.s. and that made the job easy.
