ZL1 Attracts More Attention Than Any Other Car Near It.

Has anyone else run into people pawing at your ZL1 or do I live where all the stupid people are? It's fun if I am near the car (draws so much interest) but sux when I can't see it. On more than one occasion I stared out the window at my car while eating out and people actually put their hands on the glass to look in and one guy was tapping on the carbon air extractor. Be forwarned if you have a Z on order you might get "Gawk Rage" when someone touches your car.

Is gawk rage a new recognized condition? Will it get me off the hook legally if I throw a punch at a disrepectful gawker? Suggest you put a sticky on exposed carbon fiber insert when parked: "Look don't touch". Then, they've been warned, LOL..

I might add I have gained a ton of weight off of strictly eating out at patio bars and ice cream parlors I can see my car at.

Still morons have the nerve to get up up close against the car. Gonna just start push button starting and pointing people to back off if it continues and they get near it.

Don't want resale value screwed anymore for when I trade in the Camaro for a C7 or ZL1 next year.

I get people touching my carbon fiber. It's not like there is texture to it. Bugs the heck out of me.

a remote p.a system would be fun. you could hit em with the talking car routine. the car could say things like "what are you looking at?, want to get your greasy hands off me?, whats the matter you never see a talking car before?"

Guess I'm used to it. My previous car was a 2010 Nissan 370Z roadster. It was red and I had lowered it and put on aero pieces. Got soo many looks. I totally agree with the black issue though. It shows everything on my car. Ultimately it is a car and I have to realize that the average person doesn't understand the cars value and don't know enough to not rub all over it.

Solution: get 1 Each Old Military TA-312, spool of wire, connect wire to hood, turn the crank like a F5 tornado....LMAO, problem solved!

How about just push the panic button on your remote? Would that work? I do that every once in awhile with my current car. Sounds like I will use it a heck of alot more when I get my ZL1 vert.

I had mine at a car show today, and people were very good about not touching it there. I didn't care if they opened the door and looked inside, I just didn't want hands on my paint.

FWIW. Saw a late model GT 500 on the road and followed it. It pulled into a Ford dealership. Two mechanics drove the car after putting fuel in it <it was a '12 trade in on '13> and I struck up a conversation. Long story short. Their concensus was the look of the Camaro was prefered over the Mustang. To each his own.

Not sure about clones....or what you are referring about...but....the guys with big toys know what you got, and will go out of their way to follow you and get up close and personal with your ride. I am referring to high end BMW's, Porche's, Maserati's, Bentley's and alike. Sidenote, they all wrote bigger checks than ZL1 owners.
