Question about Long Tube headers

When someone gets pulled over and they find LT headers what happens?

You are given a citation that requires you to go to a "Referee" for inspection. If you fail the inspection, you receive a fine.

If you are caught street racing and you have illegal mods on your car, they can take it and crush it.

I never race so I am good. A few man hours can make mods disappear

In less than 2 hours you can turn long tube headers and a CAI into factory cast headers and one ugly plastic box intake system.

It is a very sad excuse of an intake

I worked for a state ref. If u have any aftermarket mods on ur car and they have a EO number that says its 50 state legal your ok but if u have a intake for pepboys then yea , then put back the stock intake but there is a way to pass with out puting the big intake box just get a k/n airfilter cone after the mas sensor the legaly ur not modding the air/fuel so its legal

That doesn't work now that they put the stupid carbon filter in the factory airbox. That is what is keeping several of the aftermarket CAI companies from getting a CARB #. It's sums as hell.

I most likely will just revert back to stock during testing if I do this set up. I was just worried about being pulled over and if I am not racing I should be fine.

If any camaro gets smogged its cuz its comin in from another state or sale /buy , also with exhaust u cant b loader then 87db from the tail pipe. But most of the time ppl just pay then go to a ref cuz if u get pulled for exhaust sound and u go to a ref, then hes going to check from the headers to the tip if everthing is ok

I thought you have 5 years when you buy a new car in this state to have to go for smog check?

or... you can register it in a mod friendly state and save all that time you'd spend uninstalling/installing your mods and drink some cold beer.
