I also wonder if I remove the factory seat are there sensers mounted in or under the drivers seat?

I'm not sure if I want to lose the side airbags but at 1g the stock seats are horrible. I have to push with my knee against the door to stay in place. Its ridiculous that there's no optional sport seats for such a high performance car.

That's funny, my left knee was rubbed raw by the end of the day. I told a buddy I worked just as hard keeping myself in the car as I did driving.

When you disconnect the airbags, you'll get an SRS light on the dash. There is a company on the Internet that sells a kit which uses a resister to trick the computer into thinking the airbag is still functional. You also have to make sure the passenger seat weight sensor is still functional.

I have sparcos in my car, both driver and passenger. My shop Blu808 tabbed up the tracks and brackets. They fit perfectly and do not wiggle at all. I think his price was better than Sparcos. I would try PMing him. They are setup on tracks so I can slide forward and backward. The mounting plate also provides points for installing a 6-point harness.

The airbag light will come on, but you can add a resistor so the system doesn't trip.

I would have went with CTS-V seats, but just waaaaay to expensive!

We do Recaro in them all the time and let me tell you they are a blast to drive. These are the power Recaro seats in a 2011 Camaro with a matching back seat.

there is a website called andy auto sport I would email them. they have the power recaro's for like $2700 each. then you would need a bracket for each side. since these are power If the slider assembly comes on them or not.

This is one of those things that people complain about not having the factory option but I have always wondered if people would really pay the 5k just for seats.

I am not going to but for 5-6k I am sure you can have these recaro's in your car.

What about creating a deeper pocket for your back in the stock seat? Seems like there would be room to cut/reduce the vertical springs that are against your back and allow you to sit deeper in the seat.
