camaro 1LE racing seats

So getting close to having my 1LE... And one of the things I wish to change is the seats I'm not a big fan of them... to me tyey should replaced them with recaros like in the cadillac CTSV.... But that's just me.... Anyone know of any recaro or soarco seats that will fit properly on the Camaro ? Anyone switching theirs seats ?

Or has anyone heard of placing the seats of the CTSV on the camaro? Any idea if how much money and where to get a hold of a pair ?

These are the seats installed the COPO Convertible. I think they're pretty sharp. Supposedly ALL COPO parts will, at some point, be available through GM Performance Parts. Just another option for ya.....

Those seats look a lot like some that Cobra makes.

Going to have to disconnect airbags... this may cause problems with your insurance company.

When I get a racing seat it will have to be easily swapped out. I can not afford a track car and a daily driver.

I know that in the end I'm gonna wish to have a ZL1 but the wait is crazy for an allocation.

I'm all over this thread. Those COPO seats look great, but GM aftermarket usually costs a $&!#-ton. I need retain my recline function, and make sure my shoulders fit in between the side bolsters. Anybody know of somewhere you can see some of these seats in person, maybe sit in one before buying?

I too would like to replace the seats with some recaro seats. I've thought about using the CTS-V seats, but want to know if it's a direct fitment.

In case any of you have never used racing seats, I had MOMO's in my turbo mk4 jetta and when I took them out later I didn't have the same feel/confidence to take corners as fast even though the suspension mods remained( coil overs, sways, bushings, mounts). I don't even mean at ten tenths, just out on the road carving corners I noticed myself taking them about 10 mph slower because of perceived roll and traction limits.

So changing seats actually made a real driving difference to me that I thought wasn't associated with them at all. Hope that helps some people pull the trigger. I know I'm a big guy and still slide around in my ss seat.

There is always this option too for those with a limited budget or prefer not to swap seats.

I have never used them but I have read good things about them.

They do work for side to side movement but I still found myself sliding forward or down some. One of the CG locks mostly fixed that.

Do you use both the angel pads and cg lock or just the cg lock?

Yep! I use them and they do help tremendously. I would not go to a track day without them anymore. Cost is reasonable and you still keep the full comfort and adjustability of your factory seats w/ airbags for regular driving. I have a CG Lock on the way to see if it makes any difference though to be honest I felt like the Angelwing Pads did a fine job without the lock.

I started with the CG lock then added the angel wings. Only thing is I made my own. Went to a fabric store and got some fabric and some foam, shaped the foam to fit my big ass just right then had my dad who makes back/ leg baces sew them up. $38 total.
